In a regional town in Scotland, I went to see the local newspaper. I was ushered into the muniment room, which contained priceless bound volumes. There was a skylight which leaked, and there was mould growing about the place. I was given a cup of coffee to take *into* the archive.
I think we need a mega thread of everyone's craziest archive stories.

Due South reboot. Drawn by Dave McKean.

Ray travels to Canada to help a young Mountie (and an elderly deaf wolf) solve the murder of her father, his best friend.

In doing so, Ray finds himself trying to convince her of the one thing his old partner cared about more than anything:

Kindness matters
Okay, you get to write ONE dream comic mini-series, featuring characters you did not create.

What character would you pick, and who would draw it?

Another vile hypocrite forcing Brexit on the rest of us whilst he fleeces the EU as an MEP and enjoys life in a French chateau.
‘Speaking outside his chateau in France, former Brexit Party and UKIP MEP Coburn answered "no" when a BBC journalist asked him whether he had ever been paid to give a speech to promote pro-Russian campaigners.’

Great work from @BBCWales. Keep going

The Mary Rose is an important part of the story of Portsmouth, so naturally the ship, or representations of her, appear in artwork all over the city.

This is frightening - our legal system's wheels are falling off.
Here is a list of reasons why some of my hearings and trials this year have been delayed and kicked off into the long grass, stuck in our record court backlog. Serious allegations which will now be tried *years* after the event. 🧵👇

I see Farage now hates emigration as well as immigration. The trouble is, he’s a big part of why people are emigrating. Brexit has made the U.K. a less attractive place for everyone.

One way of telling the political story of the last ten years is of three wasted overall majorities.

A substantive majority in the Commons for a full term is the greatest prize the UK constitution can bestow on a PM, and three times in a row, it has been wasted by those prize-winners.

If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour
