While this has been touted as “Problematic Orientalism” in recent years, it did inspire me to do extensive research and planted a seed for what grew into a deep appreciation of the cultures depicted.
So, frankly, I don’t find it problematic at all. Rather the opposite.

My biggest pet peeve is probably ignorance. Ignorant people drive me up the fucking wall. Being stupid isn’t your fault, and insanity can be treated, but being ignorant in this day and age is a conscious decision to reject education, and I can’t stand that.
