It's a small comfort, but Catherine O'Hara got to win Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG awards all for her role as Moira. She got to see that she was respected not just as funny, but as an artist.

Evening viewing recommendation? Before it leaves the Criterion Channel in February, watch Howard Hawks's noir masterpiece THE BIG SLEEP (1946). In their second immortal pairing, Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall's innuendo-laden chemistry practically scorches the screen. ❤️‍🔥

Giuliano de' Medici by Sandro Botticelli, c. 1478/80

☠️Likely painted after Giuliano de’ Medici's murder in 1478. The downward tilt of his head, lowered eyelids, half-open window & turtledove on a dead branch can all be used to symbolize death.

We did not properly punish the confederates. We did not properly punish the insurrectionists on January 6th. We have to punish ICE.

They can’t be allowed to slink back into their communities quietly. Expose them. Arrest them. Convict them. Imprison them.

Meanwhile, Americans still don’t know the name of the masked federal agents who killed an American citizen on the streets.

This is a blatant attack on our First Amendment rights
