Utah commissioned it's department of health to do a systematic review of gender affirming care for trans youth. In a 1000 page plus report found it was beneficial and the evidence was substantial. The lawmakers rejected it anyways.

now I think all of us who are Online have sometimes engaged in - hopefully mild - versions of this behavior. It's worth being aware of it as a danger. it's not a new phenomenon - in Jewish terms, it's just another form of lashon hara - but it's one that gets super-fueled by online dynamics.

I think there's two basic dynamics underpinning shitty mob behavior online, and the Sky Marchini/Will Stancil stuff is an unfortunate example of each. The first is a feeding frenzy - when a post is over-interpreted or just straightforwardly misinterpreted, and especially when it escapes context.
