This like what happened with the publication of 'Robin Hoods Death' in the 17th century, since then it's been literally impossible for anyone to make any Robin Hood media.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

I think there's an argument that the BBC being perceived as biased towards the left (clearly it fucking isn't) allows it to do far more damage than any of the widely recognised as right wing media sources.
Personally I'd be pleased to see BBC News disappear entirely. To argue, as many do, that British politics or our news environment would be so much worse without the BBC you have to explain why British politics and news environment is so very bad with the BBC.

Old colour footage of the Dinos is quite rare, and also an important asset.

This film was made during one of the “Iguanodons look they have goggly eyes due to excessive white paint” periods..

It’s a shame that GTA VI has been delayed but I’m excited by Rockstar’s promise that the extra time will allow them to give all the pedestrians in the game “a rich inner life” and “the capacity to actually experience pain”

That this guy was the governor of the bank of England between 2013 to 2020 probably goes someway to explaining why Britain is currently so cooked. Like we probably still would be regardless but jfc.
Instead of protecting Canadians from scams, Mark Carney’s Liberals are planning to develop a framework for stablecoins after crypto billionaires spent big to buy one in the United States.

The government claims it will “benefit men and youth by improving prosperity and good governance.” 🫠

The Liberal government is committing to roll out new legislation to ensure some digital currencies are secure and stable enough for consumers and businesses to use.

My daughter was beaten, spat on, outed & bullied AT SCHOOL, btw. The only reason she wasnt beaten worse was because she got away, locked herself in the toilet and FUCKING PHONED ME.

How would removing her phone have kept her safe?!
I'm the parent of a trans teen a year younger than Brianna should be. She's been beaten, spat on, outed & bullied out of school. By children who have grown up surrounded by toxic transphobia. She didnt leave the house for over 2 yrs - her online trans friends were the ONLY ppl who understood 1/

Stopping trans kids from finding much needed community on the Internet makes more sense as "keeping trans people safe" when you factor in that that's just the Labour MP euphemism for 'doing everything we can to stop trans people existing'.
And how do those children typically access the media they've been radicalised by? 🤔

Measures like this are not intended *instead of* measures to keep trans kids and adults safer, but they're not at odds with those objectives either.

The BBC has a long record of doctoring footage. But consequences only seem to follow when the Right are maligned.

1984: BBC reverses order of footage of Battle of Orgreave, portraying miners as aggressors. No apology.

2017: Newsnight edits interviews with Corbyn. No apology; Kuenssberg promoted.

"A single shared source of truth". Lol. Lmao.
No single US news source is consumed by more than 25% of Americans, whereas 60% of Brits regularly watch/read/listen to the BBC.

A single shared source of truth makes it harder for partisan echo chambers to form, or for divisive narratives to dominate. It’s good for social cohesion and compromise.

I am of the firm opinion that “gender-critical” transphobia is fascism. And not just “fascism adjacent” or “fascist enabling” but fascism front & centre.

Owning slaves, invading other peoples’ countries and starving people to death are not “contentious”, they are fascism.

Live your life in such a way that when you die people don't literally rise from the dead to shit on your grave.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Funkos are dogshit and ugly and an affront to tens of thousands of years of human creativity and this is like a blessing from the gods to me.
Funko admits “substantial doubt” it can continue as a going concern amid crashing sales and mounting debt.

The Pop! maker warns of potential loan defaults without fresh funding or a buyout, after a 14% sales drop and $250M in obligations.

It's wild seeing people act surprised that Keir 'Alpaca attacker' Starmer is authoritarian. The guy that deported someone for stealing ice cream. The cunt so servile to america that he tried having an autistic man sent to Guantanimo for trying to find out if aliens existed.

The character i feel most sorry for in terminator 2 is that guy who gets his little truck house stolen and instantly destroyed. Just seems like a nice guy who really doesn't deserve it at all.

We're an average income household and we can afford a smaller house than me and my partner 20 years ago when we were living off of a student loan.
Almost universal across the west. Voters have never had it so good. But they feel more was promised. And isn't just the cost but the difficulties of life, and the sense of a class that doesn't face these.
