Hi everyone I’m stoked to join Bluesky ✨
The internet had the potential to make humans so much smarter and interconnected. Instead, it's dumbing us down and siloing us off. A real tragedy.

Yup. Our military industry needs violence, and they’ll make up an enemy if there isn’t one ready.

They pulled out of Afghanistan in ‘21 and managed to have Marines deployed in Los Angeles by ‘25.
Perhaps some day ppl will realize that when the U.S. bombs Palestinians, bombs Venezuelans, bombs Somali, that those bombs will one day drop on them, too.

There is no "they deserved it" or "it's a third-world shithole." There are just powerful people bombing poor people.

L take

It doesn’t matter what it’s about. It’s illegal no matter the premise.

You can’t build societies based on “rule of law” and then throw it out the window no matter the reason

People say “we need laws to stop this from happening” but we already do

They’ll say “we need enforcement” but that rarely works

we need a system where this can’t happen. Abolish financialization

If it isn’t a real good or service, it shouldn’t be bought or sold, period
“What appears to be a newly created account appeared to invest $30,000 Friday in Maduro's exit. After Maduro went into custody Saturday morning, that same investor netted $436,759.61.”
Someone made $400K by predicting Maduro's capture. Here's what happened
The winnings come as the rules governing prediction markets are still evolving.

Minimum wage is still 7.25 Trumps per hour
The year is 2038. You have to call your spouse on the side of the Trumpway to explain your Trump blew a Trump-rod and now you’re gonna have to pay 2000 Trumpies to get it fixed.

I hate how boomers and centrists eat this shit up. The right’s project for the last 50yrs has been to harm anyone who’s not a straight white man

A lib platforms a republican and they all get a democracy-boner

Meanwhile GOP would literally behead Newsom if they thought it could harm 1 brown person
The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

Aged 42 I've developed a shoplifting habit. Always at the self scan in the supermarket, a card here, pack of biscuits there. Recently managed to get a £15 cheese advent calendar in. Staff are so overworked they just approve everything. Not struggling financially, just bored.

I literally did not have friends
Did you ever put a computer game CD-Rom in your CD player to hear if any sound files would play or did you have friends?

This is praxis
Just used a self service checkout at Lidl, realised the till was in staff mode, saw a 20% discount button on screen which I applied to my whole basket, line by line. Staff popped the till into customer mode, I paid and left.
