PlutoTV’s Barker-era TPIR channel is running the half hour season 1 episodes and quite frankly it’s beautiful. 1972-73 never looked so good. It’s so seventies it still looks like the sixties.

Home at last. Was still awkward, but no direct aggression. Only stuff like using my deadname and he/him. She didn’t like my hair but I’m not sure if that’s because trans or because she just prefers long hair. Surprisingly no mention of the nose jewelry. Overall calling it a win on penalty kicks.

Update: we seem to be avoiding names, but there’s been a couple of “he”’s that I’m just grinning and bearing. No actual confrontations or terribly awkward moments yet though. So I’d say it’s going better than expected.

So we’re at my wife’s choir concert. At intermission, her mother comes over to say hi.
Her mother has never called me Jillian and never seen me dressed feminine in the four years since I started transitioning.
I’ve left them alone together for now but have no idea how this is going to play out.

the NYT was simply too focused on the *real* threat to young girls, which of course is not massive amounts of institutional pedophilia rotting the country from the top down, it was trans women existing. Apparently we were more important to fabricate stories and platform cranks about lol.

Watching Fellowship of the Ring for the first time since probably 2001. It’s still unnecessarily long, and the only parts that seem vaguely familiar are the ones that have been thoroughly memed. Even with Rifftrax this is a tough watch.
