In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.
He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.
At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.
Wael died on Friday at age 30.
ICE caused his death.

My Democratic rep who voted for the Laken Riley Act voted no on ICE funding, and my Republican county exec is insisting he never gave the okay for local law enforcement to cooperate with ICE and that he only supports the deportation of undocumented people who have committed serious crimes.

Something I don’t think polling fully captures is the intensity of unpopularity. “Strongly disapprove” covers a wide range of attitudes. There’s “this sucks” strongly disapprove and there’s “it is now my life mission to destroy all that you stand for at all costs” strongly disapprove.
