Accessibilty, physical or digital, is more than meeting minimum legal standards. It can create a second-class, go to the backdoor for disabilities. Instead, consider how to integrate designs up front that focus on dignity, ease of access, aesthetics, and inclusion. #disability #accessibility

Seated mannequins are more than disabled representation.

They give wheelchair users an idea of how clothing will look and fit while seated, which is often very from how clothing will look and fit while standing.

I’m only dreaming now, but one thing I’d like to do as an OT is to run a clinic for autistic kids and adults where there are low-risk simulation rooms - like practice dentist offices, classrooms, and grocery stores. But for sensory, not behaviour, to see what accommodations would be helpful!

We aren't becoming something we're not;
we're remembering who we've always been.
We're born healers, storytellers, artists, and lovers.
Our true selves have been here all along.
We don't acquire these roles;
we uncover them.
We're not learning to love;

This is such an important step towards more accessible gaming, huge for the industry. Let’s keep working towards these goals and make it even better for everyone.
The ESA and industry partners announced the Accessible Games Initiative at GDC today.

This industry-wide initiative provides a unified collection of accessibility tags, intended to help players more easily find out if a game is accessible to them.

Far from ableist, cities that work for cycling also work for a variety of mobility devices.

But the devil’s in the details: mountable curbs, plentiful curb cuts, smooth asphalt, lane width (minimum 2.3m/7.5ft per direction), visual cues, and gentle gradient (less than 2-4%) for bridges and tunnels.

This raku vase, 'Persephone's Whisper' embodies Spring.

Born of fire, kissed by air,
Blush and twilight tangled there.
Spring’s soft breath in petals spun,
Echoes where the rivers run.
Ash to bloom, night to day—
"Persephone’s Whisper" lights the way.
