My class is doing a Secret Santa which I agreed to, and I even agreed to a $20 limit, but now it’s been raised to $30 and I can’t afford that but I don’t want to say it 😢

The worst thing AI has done to culture in just a couple years is not that people think AI generated things are real, but that they now think real things are AI generated

“And what did you learn?”

That when I’m frustrated I have a bad attitude about learning 😂

I also spoke with my therapist about my bad attitude on life and she laughed.

When you are funny, you’re allowed to have a bad attitude apparently!

I passed my exam (with shaky hands lol) AND got a scholarship!

Thanks, Leah buddy 😊

I overheard my roommate joke, “What if I drop out of school and just joined a band?”

And I realized, I’m one of the few who can actually do that 😂

“I should just drop out and be a violinist.”

(I don’t want to.)

Yesterday’s sad convo.

Me: When growing up, the world felt like it was always getting better.

Mother: I feel badly for young people who don’t have the same hope we did.

A pic of my mother (a MD/Phd who spent her career fighting diseases) in a hopeful time.

May our children find hope again.

There better not be another election.

Don’t waste our money just because grown men can’t make decisions like adults.

Last night was fun because some of my new orchestral colleagues heard me playing for the first time, and the only context they had for me was “she lives here and is an OT student.”

So when I played like a professional violinist, they were very surprised!

Positive: I have 4 friends attending my show tonight!

Negative: This is some of the hardest sh*t in the string quartet repertoire, and we had 2 days to put it together.

“If you can learn about your disability, you can learn about your privilege.”

Truer words have never been said.

I’m disabled, neurodivergent, racialized, and queer, AND I hold a lot of privilege as a housed, employed, and educated individual (even though I had to fight like hell for education!)

I’m heartsick to hear that the incomparable Alice Wong has passed. Her loss will be felt keenly, by many, and for a long time. She is a force, a generous leader and storyteller, and an oracle for disabled futures. Much love to Alice and to all our crip kin and comrades. ❤️‍🩹

One thing about me is that I carry fire in my heart, which means I accidentally spark changes in communities.

I’ve accidentally ventured into getting equitable extended benefits for northern students and bumped into the right connections. I’m only 2 months in my program 😂

*Talking* about how competent you are in a job and using a bunch of fancy words

And *being competent* in the job

Are two absolute, 100%, totally and completely

DIFFERENT. THINGS.

I did not know that dumpster diving was a frowned upon activity. We talked about it today in class, and no one’s done it before/had to do it.

I had to for food my first round of grad school, in downtown Ottawa.

I never thought of myself as someone who has street smarts, but now I do!

Weeks ago, South Korea mocked Trump with a replica of the golden Cheonmachong crown, claiming it symbolized “peace.” In reality, the crown came from the Silla Kingdom, whose king was assassinated after a civil war and kingdom destroyed by corruption & rule for the wealthy.
