Grizzly attack on 11 kids & teachers in BC.

“one teacher jumped in front of the bear to allow the children to get away…he jabbed the bear’s eyes with his fingers and that’s how he was able to… how the bear just left him.”

“That teacher was later airlifted from the scene.”

Teachers are heroes.

I'm always thankful for the leadership AND engagement showcased by New West Mayor @pjnewwest.bsky.social ! Way to go my friend!
Last Friday, I attended a meeting convened by @visionzerovancouver.ca with regional elected folk, transportation & public health professionals to talk about inter-agency collaboration on the ending of road deaths and serious injury. It helped solidify for me the value of the #NewWest VZ approach.

The magnitude of the Democrats’ win yesterday shows the rhythms of US democracy are still very much alive. The race against authoritarianism is clearly not lost yet.

This was the most exciting post season baseball in years. The @bluejays.com united a nation.
Heartbroken, but still so proud of that team.

Honestly, for Toronto and Jays fans that is an unforgettable, indelible, brutal way to lose. That is pure heartbreak, pure what-if, forever. And that’s part of what made that one of the best baseball games anyone will ever see.

The restraint bystanders have shown is amazing. I am sure it would be pretty tempting to pull down a mask or two.

Keep using your words. Keep passively obstructing (like the cyclist in the video). Don't turn violent

Good morning from Victoria!

It is time for the annual Union of B.C. Municipalities convention, where every city and regional government gathers for a week to debate policy and lobby the province.

FEEL THE EXCITEMENT (but no honestly this is always such a fascinating week)

BC resident pro tip! To get the a real pulse of what's going on in our beautiful province, search for news this week from the Union of BC Municipalities conference in Victoria.

A free society relies on the premise that people can speak out without fear or humiliation.

If a president wanted to become effectively a dictator, he’d likely:

1. Purge govt of non loyalists
2. Weaponize law against opponents
3. Use military to police opposition strongholds
4. Threaten media, schools, businesses w penalties to get them to heel
5. Change election rules in his favor.

Being interviewed by Terry Gross ruined all other interviewers for me.

"Well prepared" doesn't even begin to cover it, and she is just so generous in the conversation.

It's like playing tennis with Serena Williams but she only wants to keep the volley going as long as possible.
I love Terry Gross she is a top ten person
