@resprite.bsky.social Sorry to bother you again. I’m wondering what the progress is on the tileset/tilemap work is please? I can see that it’s been worked on that it was due-ish by around now. I’m just wondering how that’s going and whether there’s an indication of how soon it is please?

If you’re ever staring at the GDScript editor in #Godot and your brain is melting and you’re not sure why….
Try changing line spacing to 0 in the editor settings. You might suddenly feel more comfortable 🙂 Have a nice day!

November marks my 20th year on the magazine. I think that deserves a self-congratulatory pat on the back.
For every like this receives I'll try and recall one anecdote (interesting or otherwise) about my time on the mag.

Good morning and happy Wednesday to everyone. It’s devastating to watch tens of millions of people wish death upon the president when it should be hundreds of millions.

It is pretty hard to feel any sympathy for Americans, when the overarching story here is that the richest country in the world is throwing a temper tantrum because they feel like they've somehow gotten a raw deal.

Could programmers from the 80's understand today's code?

Could todays programmers understand code from the 80's?

My brother, I don't understand my own code from last week. Every line I write is a bespoke bit of spontaneous genius that even I am incapable of deciphering mere days after writing it.

Japan has just opened its first osmotic power plant 🌊⚡

This works by mixing fresh & salt water across a membrane, creating pressure that drives a turbine to make electricity.

This site will generate 880,000 kWh a year...while helping run a desalination plant providing fresh water to the city 👏
Japan has opened its first osmotic power plant – so what is it and how does it work?
The site in Fukuoka is only the second power plant of its type in the world, harnessing the power of osmosis to run a desalination plant in the city

People often recommend to take our game ideas and just make them, get the mechanics working and see if it feels right.
I have no ideas. I just like building stuff.
My ideas are all like “I want to feel like what playing The Chaos Engine feels like”. My head is empty.

This is a very good article on level design, about how level design isn't so much about crafting a space as it is crafting gameplay.

And here it is accompanied by some of my best received Doom maps over the years, to illustrate some different architectural forms that good level design can take:

Can you post examples of "fully makes up shit". I haven't seen it, but I have seen a lot of people claim this is the case.

We're no longer in a world where claims are all you need to make a point. We need proof.
