“idealists dedicated to free speech and free inquiry went to work at Bari Weiss anti woke university and were surprised to find out it was a right wing project” can’t wait to read this shit and be shocked by the basics I’ve understood about “free speech” discourse and the right since i was 15yrs old
this is a rollicking great read

it's a story of a bunch of tenured idealists who believed that they were building a university dedicated to free speech and free inquiry, but then lost control of their project to... the right-wing megadonors who funded the university

You're not wrong - a storm *IS* blowing from Paradise. Here's why that's bad news:

• The angel would like to stay, awaken the dead, and make whole what's been smashed. But its wings aren't strong enough.

• What we see as a chain of events? Actually, it's one single catastrophe.

banning X is a national security issue for every country, plain and simple

its explicit goal is to amplify and empower the largest Nazi-adjacent party in every country in which it operates

it is also the largest deepfake porn generator in the world

this is not a difficult call to make

"Leo Varadkar is the former Taoiseach of Ireland."

yes, and now he works for a lobbying firm that represents a lot of companies set to profit from "rearming Europe" – and indeed, companies who are currently profiting from genocide in Gaza – so I would probably at least mention that in his bio
Former Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, writes for The Journal today, looking at Trump's actions in Venezuela and what it means for global politics, particularly the EU.

"We need to re-arm Europe and recharge our economic model for growth", he writes.

Leo Varadkar: The end of Maduro is welcome. The way it happened is not
The former Taoiseach say we now face a new global reality, and Europe must strengthen its defences and recharge economically, if it wishes to remain free.

Quake Brutalist Jam 3 is breathtakingly gorgeous and cleverly constructed. Incredible work by the team and in my opinion - worthy of joining the modding pantheon with Arcane Dimensions

And it's free, you can go play a standalone version, even if you don't own Quake:
