eric adams is a fucking scumbag.

this is a message to all NYers: there is not a single person or group this man won't feed to the fascist maw if it means saving his own ass. act accordingly.

Mayor Adams to Top Commissioners: Don’t Criticize Trump, Don’t Interfere with Immigration Enforcement
After weeks of confusing messaging on ICE raids, the mayor ordered his staff to stifle criticism of the feds and that he alone will make sure NYC doesn’t lose funding.

we know this, but a reminder: anytime ICE CBP etc says they’re drawing down their presence in a city, it’s bullshit. whatever their numbers, lawless federal agents remain behind & still cause havoc & kidnap people. Also relocated agents just go somewhere else to destroy lives. Abolish ICE end DHS

If you went out of your way to praise the courage and integrity of Gov Kemp in 2020 you really ought to ask why he’s been so circumspect here in the present.
It was obvious from the outset that the Fulton County elections search was bullshit. But now we know just how bullshit: contrived, contradictory "evidence" aimed at the theoretical crime of intentionally mucking up a system in which no fraud occurred.
It is, as assumed, all about sowing doubt. READ:

So glad our culture and news media spent decades responding to people like this with "what would make you say that," and "let's debate this respectfully," and "why do these ideas resonate with people," and "let's hear him out," and "wow so provocative," instead of "man, shut the fuck up."
Fuentes then fantasizes about “breeding gulags”: “So just like Hitler imprisoned Gypsies, Jews, communists, you know, all of his political rivals, we have to do the same thing with women… They go to the breeding gulags. The good ones will be liberated. The bad ones will toil in the mines forever.”

I'd also just add that "if we don't go after immigrants, the fascists will" is the precise language Palantir's CEO has used for years to justify letting the government use his company's authoritarian tech.

He is now an open, unapologetic supporter of this administration.
Trump lied about immigrants in 2016 too. He then defeated an official from the administration that holds the deportation record.

If migration caused Trump's reelection (I don't think it did), it wasn't b/c of migrants. It was b/c mainstream, centrist outlets amplified fearmongering about migrants.

Don’t be fooled by headlines when they’ve been lying to us the whole time. We still need you out patrolling until every agent is gone.

Anyway, in the run-up to the 2020 election a lot of people connected to the Obama Administration said they’d learned their lesson around this because they gave the right everything they wanted and got nothing in return. What we’re seeing now is a deliberate effort to erase that lesson.

If we believe DHS’s numbers, ICE spent three months in Minnesota and arrested just over one person per agent in that time.

The Minneapolis resistance worked. And let the momentum lead to abolishing ICE altogether.
Believe that they're really ending the surge in Minnesota when people on the ground say it's happened but also *even* if this is nothing but more face saving, it's a huge acknowledgement that they know they're losing and that the people of Minnesota are never going to stop protecting their neighbors

Now it goes to the Senate. No path to 60. THUNE promises a vote.

The story is wrong. It wasn't the DOD who shot down the balloons. It was the CBP, the same people who murdered Alex Pretti. A bunch of angry generals and admirals were able to stop them because air defense is NORTHCOM's job, but that is literally what it took.
