I knew almost nothing about Bad Bunny (I saw him on SNL once) and I didn't know any of his music, but that half-time show was GREAT.

I've been tempted to cancel WaPo for a few years but it was emotionally difficult because it was my childhood paper. I've literally been reading it daily for 50+ years (like so many, I started w/ the comics) . I cancelled today. This was the last straw, and honestly, I should have done it before.
Why do I expect the paper to be called The Trump Post before the end of the day?

Absolutely surreal to continue to hear about drawdowns and lowered temperatures and things calming down in Minneapolis when, as far as I can tell, literally nothing has changed on the ground

The purpose of arresting of Don Lemon is to scare journalists. We need our citizen journalists AND our professional journalists. Keep filming when you see something wrong.

My late husband received care in a VA ICU, and while it was in Virginia, not Minnesota, I can't help but think of all the wonderful male nurses (young, bearded, slender) he had there and mesh them with Alex Pretti in my mind.

Very good point. VERY GOOD point.
A regular reminder that cops have been doing exactly this to Black Americans for far longer than our cellphone culture has been reporting it.

If we want the nation in which we live to be different, we must organize, rise up, and make it so.

With *diverse tactics* including big strikes and more.
Not sure our brains were made to process extrajudicial executions in the streets in real time

These ICE guys are so manly, running down an underdressed child.
ICE detain yet another minor child—chase him down his own street and tackle him to pavement.

"I am legal! I am legal!" he cries over and over in Spanish.

Agent pins the boy down in snow—he desperately tries to keep his exposed hands from freezing at -25°F wind chill temperature.

Interesting how gently they are arresting the clergy, but they're slamming teenagers to the ground. Hmmm, could it be the color of their skin?
Over 100 priests have been arrested in Minneapolis for protesting ICE.

They gathered to demand airlines to cease contracting deportation flights to DHS.

If ICE truly were targeting "the worst of the worst" and not, you know, deliberately brutalizing innocent families with children, they'd rush to correct all the stories like this one, apologizing and insisting it's not what they're really doing.

They don't because this is deliberate. This is it.
The parents of a 7 year old, all of whom are in the process of applying for asylum, took their daughter to the ER when her nose wouldn't stop bleeding. ICE picked them up near the hospital and they are now in detention in Texas, presumably awaiting deportation. www.oregonlive.com/portland/202...

I've seen a few similar posts in the last few days. What Nat said. It's hard to know what more can be done.
I am so unbelievably tired of people from outside the US asking why Americans don’t do something about all the shit that’s going on.

We are trying. Many of us are protesting, contacting our representatives, donating to nonprofits/candidates, and sharing resources.

I don’t know what else to do.

Even if the first shot was justified (and I don't believe it was), the second and third were definitely not. She had clearly steered away from him at that point. He was just trigger-happy.

I put a bowl of water on the floor for the dog. Could not stand up again.
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

I rarely can take it in when people say nice things about my work. Imposter syndrome runs deeeeeeeeep.
Remember your favorite creator possibly might be struggling with imposter syndrome and doubt and this timeline sucks.. so if you find yourself thinking “wow I really relate to this persons work” or that persons work gives you joy, you should probably tell them. It’s a hard time to be a creative.

As more and more creators are expected to be on camera to promote their comics, can we talk for a second about how this opens up female creators to intense harassment about their looks?

Not to mention a lot of "You only have a career in comics because you're good looking" comments?

Most of my art education came from playing MASTERPIECE back in the 70s, so when I saw a painting across the room at VMFA and thought, "That reminds me of 'Nighthawks'" and it turned out to be by Edward Hopper? I am feeling pretty smug.
