Today was the second time in as many years that I, an almost-thirty-year-old woman, was mistaken for a teenager, and I, a person who just washes my face and moisturizes and sometimes wears SPF if I remember, therefore must conclude that the entire anti-aging industry is a scam.

Eternally baffled by the fact that we’ve made it all the way to the year of our lord 2026 and people somehow still don’t understand who Bruce Springsteen is or what he stands for.

If you turn away from what's happening and have ANY political power, you've made your choice.

You're supporting the killing and kidnapping of innocent people.

And people around the US -- and the world -- are bearing witness.
Walz: "To Americans who are watching this, I've got a question for you: What side do you want to be on? The side of an all powerful federal govt that can kill, injury, menace, & kidnap its citizens off the streets? Or on the side of a nurse at the VA hospital who died bearing witness to such govt?"

I honestly wonder what it’s like to love the taste of boot leather this much because I cannot relate at all.
Mike Johnson accuses Norway of “making a political decision & not awarding the Nobel Prize to probably the most deserving individual in history of the prize. There are 8 to 10 wars & conflicts that’ve been resolved by President Trump, & he got snubbed.”

Wow, sure would be pretty crazy if a ton of experts in the artificial intelligence field relentlessly warned everyone about this state of affairs being inevitable over and over for years.

exactly this. do you correctly view MAGA as an evil force that jerks off over murdering women and flash banging babies, which must be crushed and destroyed forever? Or are you still clinging to a dangerously naive delusion that these creatures can be won over with the Power of Debate?
the dividing line amongst democrats is basically do you view republicans as existential threats to the country or do you view them as sparring partners.

it’s 2026. cuck democrats can either get on board or get primaried

This man is the fucking supervillain of our time. Pick something wrong with America right now and there is a 98% chance it can be tied back to his administration in some way. Believing he was good for this country in any way is automatically disqualifying to me.
The presidency once served as a reminder of our common humanity. Ronald Reagan described its purpose as building "a nation composed of good and decent people."

I am going to watch The Princess Bride over Christmas for a multitude of reasons and I swear to fucking god if a certain person behaves toward it the way they did toward LOTR last year I am going to detonate a metaphorical nuclear bomb in my family and I will not be sorry.

America, you have spoken loud and clear: You do not like AI. But what if AI is the way to restart the world’s idea machine?
We’re running out of good ideas. AI might be how we find new ones.
What if the best use of AI is restarting the world’s idea machine?

I was five years old the first time I saw The Princess Bride. I got the DVD in my Easter basket when I was eight. My dad and I would watch it together every time it was on TV. I’ve seen it so many times that I have every word of it memorized.

re: prev, in my college BusComm class we had to give a speech about one thing we would change about the business school. Opposite to many of my classmates, mine was about how the business school should require MORE gen eds.

This is actually a good example of why the customer model is wrong.

I wouldn't have chosen poetry writing, but UNC made me take a class. And it absolutely made me become a much better writer, with an eye to concision and an ear now trained to the rhythm of words. I'm a better historian as a result.

Andddd this is why my parents and I regularly discuss how many members of the proletariat have convinced *themselves* that they are the bourgeoisie.
I keep seeing random flashes of “NO they’re PETIT BOURGEOISIE” being argued about various arguments, and look, I’m begging you to understand that we have to update our understanding of Marx for a modern economy.
