Most celebrity deaths don’t register much for me (thus far it’s really only been Carrie Fisher and Chadwick Boseman that have really made me feel something) but this? Absolutely heartbreaking in every possible way.

My liberal arts degree taught me how to think. It taught me how to find connections between seemingly-disparate things and build systems in my mind. It is so depressing to me that people view that kind of experience as a waste of time.

Now, I’m spoiled. I had twelve semesters of free tuition thanks to my dad being a professor. I had time for more classes. Even without that, though, and despite the fact that I work in accounting, I arguably get much more use out of my anthropology degree than my business degree.

Like babe I’m begging you I get that you make six figures starting with a 2 in base salary but I promise you that you are MUCH closer to the guy vacuuming your office building than you are to the ruling corporate class and you are kidding yourself if you believe otherwise.

Her rhetoric is obviously massively, profoundly harmful, but I am just so weirded out by the fact that she was once super close with the teacher who helped found one of our most powerful local left(ish) grassroots political orgs after 2016 and is now… that.
