I saw Kiki's Delivery Service when I had no concept of what that style was--not much of anything beyond Disney, Don Bluth, & Veggietales. All I knew was, I loved THAT.

Only I forgot the title, never found it again.

Until YEARS later, stumbling onto Spirited Away.

Magic, both of those, ever since.
In honor of Hayao Miyazaki's birthday, what's your favorite Studio Ghibli film? Doesn't have to be the one you think is "the best," just the one that nestled in your heart. Mine is Howl's Moving Castle.

Update: it's phenomenal as toast, too, and I may be obsessed with this loaf.
Turmeric-fennel loaf turned out so soft, and cut so nicely, yet the crust was perfectly thin and crispy.

It tastes warm and fennel-y and more delicious than I have the words for.

10/10, will stain my loaf pan again.

This is a beautiful story that bursts with love for all beings in their true forms and in their true places.

Candid answer - as someone who handled constituent affairs calls for years - while they’re not checking the phone right now, the urgency of the moment is important.

Show them you care enough to make the weekend call, and be counted that way. Staffers will clock and report this upstream.
Is there actually a benefit to leaving a VM now vs getting a staffer on Monday? Can do both but just curious

If you're looking for a story about grieving, revenant mothers, laying the undead to rest, about diaspora families who come together only at funerals, about how childhood neglect echoes through generations and the magic of plastic baby dolls.

Then I am here to meet your very specific needs.

So this story has been out for something like 8 hours.

The idea has existed in one form or another since 2017.

And after rereading it this morning, can I tell you what I keep getting verklempt about? One of my favorite Bits that kept me believing in this one, even through a long stint of burnout?

Excited to dig into all of them + share when I don't have a dim migraine starting! :D
