One day I’ll work out what I talk about.
Some green stuff, some nature, some cities, some wonkish stuff.

The last annual review concluded the SS Richard Montgomery was perfectly safe!

And as a demonstration of exactly how safe it is it also banned aircraft from flying anywhere near it in case, y'know, the wreck spontaneously makes itself a lot safer in a manner incompatible with continued aviation...

More woke attempts to redefine common words. As any fule kno, the British concept of class is 25% Marxism, 25% ritual cleanliness of certain professions, 25% ritual cleanliness of various regions and 25% adult literacy
Class is actually entirely determined by income:

Work at a HF, as a lawyer or doctor? Upper class.

University professor? Middle class.

Journalist or school teacher? Lower class.
That way everyone knows where they stand. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
I do this myself, but an awful lot of political Discourse consists of middle class people accusing other middle class people of being middle class

This Underwood typewriter, likely the first with Irish characters, was used by the Gaelic League around 1905.
Now on display in the newly opened Changing Ireland Galleries in Collins Barracks, it’s a powerful symbol of everyday tools shaping Irish identity.

I kept finding cló gaelach everywhere this weekend - a typewriter @nmireland.bsky.social , font on school signage, and blocks of type at the National Print Museum #gaeilge #clógaelach

I love how often holiday postcards are sent from the other side of the country from what they’re depicting.

Not because I had a small part to play but because now more than ever we need to amplify kindness and human connection, let me share with you the Tale of Kathleen & John

After I had given directions to Kathleen (as I was to learn was her name) she headed off with her trusty walking frame, Esmeralda
A woman steps into the shop: Where do I vote?
Me: Are you looking for Carysfort National School?
Her: Yes, I feel it's my duty, I turned 97 yesterday!

1. LET ASYLUM SEEKERS WORK

2. FAST TRACK STATUS FOR EVERYONE FROM CLEARLY UNDAFE COUNTRIES like Sudan, Syria, etc

3. Run an asylum accommodation system that is NOT FOR PROFIT #r4today

Once again, my apologies if I have ever remembered too much detail about you.
“Believe me, I wish I could turn it off,” Livingstone insisted. “Do you think I want to remember my ex-plumber’s birthday every year because he mentioned it the one time he fixed my toilet? Now he thinks I’m in love with him.”

Zack Polanski has changed emphasis on this and very much is saying taxing billionaires is necessary but not sufficient.
Tax policy on the British left is pure "anti-bedtime left". Bizarre idea that you can have a big social democratic welfare state without everyone contributing properly www.economist.com/britain/2025...

I have spent my entire professional life understanding the British point of view on foreign policy. I get certain historic and cultural differences. But the wilder the world gets the more infuriated I become by the dismissive attitude many Brits have towards the EU as a peace project./

Who remembers the 1850s? Going down t’market in Bradford and getting sweets off William Hardaker! “Humbug Billy”, we used to call him. Made his sweets hisself, like. Proper handmade stuff not like you get nowadays.
A friend showed me this screenshot and I started cackling, I was staining my tongue three different colors with OtterPops in 1998 are you fucking kidding me
