putting stephen miller, pete hegseth and peter thiel in the same season of america is narrative overkill, what do you mean the corrupt despotic emperor is being controlled in his decline by a scheming eunuch vizier, a violently paranoid general AND an evil wizard enthralled by a cursed amulet?

the reason people sometimes act madder at democrats than republicans when republicans do impossibly evil shit is the same reason why, if you hired an exterminator to handle a roach infestation and he showed up to feed and play with them instead, your first instinct wouldn’t be to yell at the roaches

My whole life, advocating war has been fed to me as “the adult position,” akin to drinking your coffee black or reading the business section of the newspaper. Let’s be very clear — war is the childish nonsense of impulsive destructive idiots playing baby-brained video games with real human lives.

A fox darted forward from behind me after I finished delivering at an apartment complex in the middle of the suburbs. I've seen coyotes, bobcats, all kinds of raptors, and recently a raccoon. Never seen a fox before. Only really saw the tail, but it was still neat.

YELL AT THEM IF ONLY BECAUSE IT FEELS GOOD!

Members of Congress: stop posting online and APPEAR, PHYSICALLY on the steps of the Capitol to decry this unconstitutional violation of domestic & international law. SHOW THE PEOPLE the level of danger we are facing as a country.

Moulton: "When we had briefings on Venezuela, we asked, 'Are you going to invade the country?' We were told no. 'Do you plan to put troops on the ground?' We were told no. 'Do you intend regime change in VZ?' We were told no. So in a sense, we have been briefed, we've just been completely lied to"

Yes, because the GOP likes to laud themselves as the party of law and order + the party of supporting the military + defense, and this is going to make all of those things harder.

Call them on it. Tell them this is also going to make it more dangerous for our armed forces.
I live in Tennessee.

Does it really matter? My reps won't listen to me or care anyway.

I already called of course but that's never gotten me anything more than a form letter and a subscription to Marsha's and Chucky's fascist spam.

"Why are we arresting Maduro and not Netanyahu?"

Because Netanyahu works for us, and Maduro didn't. That's really the difference. We are the global hegemon. We aren't the good guys. If Putin gave us oil and tribute, we'd sell him cheap weapons, just like Netanyahu.

It’s not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldn’t have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month.

It’s about oil and regime change.

And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from his sinking under Epstein and skyrocketing healthcare costs.

i'm really having a hard time getting past the "surely we can all agree that Somalis are worse than trash" thing. this feels new and very bad

at every step, this current wave of technology has been built on a total lack of consent. their literal legal argument is, "this industry couldn't exist if we had to get permission from the people who made it possible"

it was always going to be rotten.

bsky.app/profile/priv...
This is ultimately what people like @blackamazon.bsky.social mean when they describe genAI, the right's current darling, as a "lack of consent machine." There is a not insignificant portion of the population that is angry other people have the ability to refuse them. The core value is domination.

this is how I got to "salt the earth" on the topic last night, and I'm going to remain there until we regain some sort of LEGAL CONSEQUENCES FOR THIS SHIT.
there are endless headlines about "grok apologizes" or "grok says it will be fixed" after it generated CSAM using pictures of minors and zero headlines about "grok being shut down" or "musk and xAI in big legal trouble" and I think something fundamental has broken here
