Racist connotations aside, this feels like something Mulder and Scully would unearth during season 2 of The X-Files, and then fans would spend the next 3 years asking "Are they ever going to explain the Milk Kids video?"
The department of agriculture posted this bizarre video on X of children who look like their in a period piece horror movie drinking milk under duress and like I just want to know why? Like what the fuck is this? Why are they being weird about milk? Who are these kids? Are they ok? What the fuck???

what pisses me off to no end is that I live in a super rural area in MN, I’m a middle aged white man, but they always find these chuds to speak for me. Here’s a thought, maybe don’t go to the bar at 10am on a weekday and expect to find deep thinkers.

This whole article is a fucking insult

I don’t know what will happen and anyone who says they do is lying.

I do know that I am seeing a lot of previously apolitical acquaintances sharing stuff like this.

Kid on his way to a game, 2046: "Why does the stadium look that way, dad?"

Dad: "They wanted to curry favor with a dying sex offender."
NEWS: The Washington Commanders have released initial renderings of their new stadium at RFK. And it looks like they've included columns along the exterior, likely in response to President Trump's desire for a classical look on the stadium.

Good question.

#HorrorWriterschat
Horror is known for having both natural and supernatural antagonists, like the landscape or a ghostly presence.

Q4 #HorrorWritersChat

In your current WIP or latest published horror work, who or what antagonises your protagonist?

I don't know if anyone has ever been disgusted by a story of mine. I strive for unease, usually by mentioning strange things almost in passing.

Q3 #HorrorWritersChat

How does your writing style seek to instill fear, disgust, or otherwise unsettle your readers?

I would say the chief one is the notion that the universe is ordered and just.

“Horror comes from a violation of what characters perceive to be reality.” - Writing in the Dark by Tim Waggoner

Example: a haunted house violates the assumption that we are alone in our homes.

Q2 #HorrorWritersChat
Which perceived realities do you utilise in your horror writing?
January 14, 2026 at 7:20 PM
Hello #HorrorwritersChat. Tom Coombe, writer of cosmic/apoclyptic and often epistolary horror.

My WIP is reviving a novel-in-stories, whose influences include Between Two Fires, Children of Men and 28 Days later.
Welcome to #HorrorWritersChat

Q1
Introduce yourself and the horror subgenres you write.

Then, share three works of horror that influenced your latest work OR current WIP.
