My "most woke* opinion is that huge amounts of our political, economic, and social order deserves to be torn down, from sexism and transphobia to unrepresentative political systems to massive wealth inequality. I mean where would I even start?
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

The economic sense is so extremely in favour of renewables now, Pakistan is even paying Qatar penalties to rather NOT deliver the fossil gas that Pakistan already placed orders for, because their Solar PV and batteries make much more sense.

It saves them money to cancel their gas imports and pay!
So Pakistan is *paying* Qatar to *not* deliver LNG because even including this penalty payment their solar PV and battery spending is much better value for money and saves them billions.

How fascinating!

People say the city is getting 'too busy' and 'there's too many people' -- but there are FEWER people in most of the neighbourhoods where people are complaining.

My guess is that there are more cars per capita though.
Almost everywhere in the City of Toronto has fewer people that it did 50 years ago

Saw someone comparing AI "writers" and "artists" to tourists and that is just too accurate.

Rude, entitled tourists descending on a scenic area, trampling what made it beautiful, dressing up in ridiculous, stereotypical garb, then bragging to the folks back home how well they fit in.

Matilda 2 was a much better tank than it'sgiven credit for. Good armour. 2-pdr gun was good for 1940. Slow but only needed to move at the speed that the infantry moved at.

How about the M3/M5 series of light tanks? They proved especially useful in the south Pacific in terrain that was difficult for larger vehicles. Reliability also endeared them to Commonwealth forces accustomed to maintenance issues with British tanks.

What seemingly bad equipment or vehicles did the western Allies use in the SWW which was actually pretty good?

Swordfish, for one?

Hey horror movie fans, what are some good scary movies that really escalate in scope and scale in the 3rd act?

I’m thinking like Cabin In The Woods, 28 Days Later, etc. Movies where the finale is much bigger and crazier than the build up to it.

JFC...people obsessed with Hitler's genitalia are SO FUCKING WEIRD.

It's also just ...not super helpful. Because hidden JUST below the surface in all these things is an attempt to...explain Hitler.

Or, rather, to explain him in some unique way instead of just seeing him as a normal, awful human.
Did Hitler really have a ‘micropenis’? The dubious documentary analysing the dictator’s DNA

Eventually they decided they ALSO wanted a welded turret and that was the Mk IV. (Fletcher's book has no index and is difficult to consult). But, the Mk IV obviously has a rounded-edged turret rather than one with hard edges.

In early 1941 the British decided they'd better get on with upgunning the Churchill with a 6-pounder. Fletcher (in "Mr Churchill's Tank") outlines how some were for a cast turret and some for welded but there were doubts about a welded turret.
