Here's the Trib editorial board saying that ICE requiring a warrant signed by a judge before arresting someone is "going through the bureaucratic hoops"
From the Editorial Board: Minnesota, even in its grief and trauma over the needless deaths of two of its citizens at the hands of the state, is managing to show that communication and negotiation are possible.
Editorial: Illinois should consider pragmatic tweaks to its sanctuary law
In Minnesota, Democratic politicians are negotiating pragmatic policy changes regarding their sanctuary policies. Illinois should do the same.

You should read this. It is the type of detail that experts in authoritarian regimes see as telling.
In this case, state agents are offered impunity from higher ups, and the legal system is rendered inoperative as a mode of accountability.

What kind of sick, horrific conditions are children being forced to endure in there?

I will be back tomorrow. Accountability can’t wait.

For those looking at Tom Homan's offer to MN sheriffs -- it's called a Basic Ordering Agreement. In essence, to skirt state law, DHS pays $50 in exchange for sheriffs to hold people 48 hours past their release date. It's not really a contract; it's like a warehousing agreement for bodies.

Wait wait wait, this "drawdown" is because sheriffs agreed to break state law to help DHS with nazi crimes on the stipulation their legal costs are covered when people rightly say hey fucko thats illegal? This isn't a drawdown, it is just replacing some DHS goons with regular cops
