Remember when Dems folded and got nothing and everyone was so happy and patting themselves on the back about getting the Epstein Files released and they just blacked everything out and started deleting shit and now they're bombing Venezuela because we re-opened the government. Anyway
If Trump is really stealing spending power from Congress then it would be insanity for Democrats to vote to fund the government later this month. Shut it down until the president stops wiping his ass with the Constitution.

as a teacher who did this with HS Seniors in Dallas, I learned 2 things: 1, this needs to be a unit every single year, K-12, across disciiplines, because it's that difficult to teach well and, 2, kids actually like spotting fakes and really get into this if you give them the skills to do so

Another thing that comes to mind when this gets framed as an occupation:

When leftists occupy a park, we ask "But what are their demands?" and say "This is unfocused and foolish!"

When right-wingers occupy gov't, we say, "It looks like they are going to annex Greenland. And it just might work!"

I like to imagine that the creators of Dark walked into the Netflix office and said, "Here's our show bible, but before you ask - you're not allowed to change a thing, and any suggestions you make will be ignored." And then they proceeded to make one of the greatest shows of all time.

I assume it's very right-wing coded because that's a mindset Gillian wants to explore rather than it being his personal view, but making the character a lesbian writer kinda underminds that a bit.
I liked the pilot quite a bit and I'm interested to see where the show goes from here but a person fighting the conforming hivemind during a pandemic feels suspiciously antivax coded.

Does anyone know if Pittsburgh has any kind of townhall meeting or anything of the like where we can all shout down at our elected officials different ways we can improve the traffic around town? Because if so, I wanna go to the next one.

It's amazing how things get done when you elect someone who does things, and how things don't get done when you elect people who don't do things.

So much of the dysfunction in American cities boils down to leadership preferring the faux sophistication of explaining why things can't be done to the responsibility of just doing things.

Ameribrained white supremacists think they'll be safe under a fascist government but the truth is no one is safe except the ultrawealthy in control. Rand Paul being better on foreign policy than 90% of Democrats really sucks, especially when you consider he's probably the most annoying dude in the senate, save for Ted Cruz

This is why I’m pushing for a state escrow account that holds federal funds before sending them on to Washington. If Trump wants to steal our tax dollars that were legally appropriated by Congress, then we should just be paying ourselves.

Yo @benshoops.bsky.social Early mailbag question for you: let's say Utah gets the 6 or 7 pick and decide to go all in next year. Is there a realistic trade to get Giannis while keeping Lauri, Key, and Ace while also having enough assets to fill out the bench? What would that trade look like?
