Normal. They have taken *normal* measures.
That you are trying to convince us that anything at all is extreme is really fucking shitty. I hope they cut all your funding at this point.

would love if the takeaway here was people realizing "wow there IS money for political parties to pursue policies they believe in!" then reconsider the last several democratic administrations through that lens
ICE’s pending $30 billion budget exceeds the military spending of nearly every country, including Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and Iran.

ICE + CBP funding for 2026 would total $66 billion, higher than all but 7 militaries worldwide.
After a string of ICE murders, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries proposed reforms — and $11 billion more for ICE.

Including reconciliation bill funding, the Schumer-Jeffries plan would give ICE a $30 billion budget, higher than all but 15 militaries worldwide:

Yup.
AI, Asbestos Included.

But yeah. It clearly has uses, likely a whole lot more than we know. But it is terrible how it's being used.
I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

I have appreciated Amanda’s efforts here so I’m disappointed she’s wrapping things up by spreading misinformation. I can assure you as someone whose neighborhood has been crawling with ICE in recent days that we are not in the “aftermath” of anything.

Cops were frequently getting caught planting drugs in 2017 because body cameras were new and many of them didn't understand how the technology worked.

When cops hit "record" it saved the 30 seconds from *before* they hit the button. Eventually, they figured it out.

Swear to god, ICE could just announce they're leaving a city but not leave and the media will just stop covering that city completely even though ICE never left.

It's what ICE and the media did with LA and they're doing it with Minneapolis too

Magneto did nothing wrong.
Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday.

It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.

You should be preparing more foods with fish sauce. Not kidding in the least.

An ex of mine worked in a Thai place for a few years.
The number of times they had a customer ask them why their friend's dish was so much better than their own it was because they had requested no fish sauce.
why are we like this in america

The shittiest part is that money *DOES* buy happiness. For poor people. Every time they look into it they find that money makes you happier up until you have all your needs comfortably handled. After that it stops making you more happy.

Elon Musk has about 850 billion too many dollars.
