Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.

The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

And the AP just called it for Mamdani, with 80 percent of the votes in, and a nearly ten point lead.

Zohran! Zohran!

As an ex New Yorker, this is what I expected.

Back on Twitter, I once ran a poll of, “Biggest dick named Dick?”

The winner in a landslide was Dick Cheney.

No reason I’m bringing it up now.

So as expected, judges have ordered the administration to use the contingency funds to continue paying SNAP benefits.

Assuming no further hiccups (lol), payments should resume, albeit backed up at least a week, so continue supporting your friends with mutual aid.

Judges order the Trump administration to use contingency funds for SNAP payments during the shutdown
Two federal judge have ruled that the Trump administration must continue to fund the SNAP food aid program using contingency funds during the government shutdown.

Not even a decade ago, these same insipid articles were being written about millennials. I swear I’ve read this exact article near verbatim back in 2017 or so, only changing a couple of collective nouns.
“At the same time, more than half of Gen Z members say they are struggling to make ends meet, yet a majority buy themselves a small treat, such as a pastry, coffee, or sweet, at least once a week. That can lead to overspending…”

Seriously, give me a stick figure drawing that makes my stick figures look like Van Gogh over any of that soulless AI slop.
I need every beginner artist out there who thinks their work isn’t good enough to know that in this AI-poisoned environment seeing your raw, human art gives me fucking life.

Any imperfection born from a living soul infinitely trumps whatever “polished” slop they’re trying to force feed us.

Please remember to vote come November 4th. Local policies will have a direct impact on your life. They matter as much as the sexier national elections.

So an off season election is upon us, where all us Americans are voting on local issues that historically have very low turnout.

Local elections are in some ways more important than national ones. One way to combat fascism is a thousand municipalities hitting them with bureaucratic nonsense.

There was a demo of some tech from Microsoft I think a while back where someone with impaired vision could look at an object and the glasses would describe the object to them.

That’s a very clearly useful disability aid for any smart wearable! What became of that?
I guarantee that every single "useless invention" can be very helpful for a disabled person.

Yes, including smart glasses.

Signed, a disabled person who would actually find smart glasses very helpful, but the creepy bros are making increasingly sure that that could never happen.

Very good point.

AI is itself a very broad term that covers everything from the programming that makes the Goomba chase Mario when he gets too close to ChatGPT.

Colloquially, we’ve shifted AI to define a narrow and appalling slice of itself.
Generative AI chatbots managed to claim the entire space under the AI label, taking credit for vastly more interesting and useful technologies by virtue of presenting a bad example that the confused could cling to.

I am REALLY curious to see how they try to similarly poison quantum computing.

Important thread I did.
A lot of autistic people, including me, cannot work in an office environment.

For the last twelve years, 100 percent of my income has been self employment, and I'm going to talk about the struggles of self employment while autistic, and why this works for me.

I’ve seen arguments that Trump can still run for VP because of the word, “Elected.” The 12th amendment states, “no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”

To me and most legal experts, it seems like a solid no.
I’m seeing on TikTok speculation about how Trump could get a third term, most hinging on the language of the 22nd amendment that says, “No person shall be ELECTED to the office of president more than twice.”

They argue he could assume office unelected. This is nonsense and pure fear mongering.

Mamdani: [Cuomo’s] spending more money against me than I would even tax him!

Me: Oh SNAP!
October 24, 2025 at 2:08 AM
God bless a stubborn spoiler!
I love that Cuomo’s attempts to get Sliwa to drop out have turned this race into an escalating series of histrionic statements from world class hater Sliwa about how much Cuomo sucks

Mamdani is going to get 55-60% of the vote and the fallout is going to be tremendous entertainment
Curtis Sliwa says he would rather be fatally tortured than drop out of the NYC mayoral race and work for Andrew Cuomo.

I see a lot of people are sharing this, but FYI I cannot confirm this anywhere.

Searching for "US rolling back tariffs," doesn't give any article from WSJ. The latest articles that came up about rolling back tariffs are from May.

I call this misinformation.
BREAKING: The US is rolling back tariffs on “products that cannot be grown, mined, or naturally produced in the United States," per WSJ

I’m at a point where I don’t trust anyone who uses “problematic” unironically unless for demonstrative purposes.

Problematic has become a problematic phrase I tells you.
“Problematic” also tells me nothing, what did they DO

WHAT DID THEY FUCKING DO, that’s what I care about

Today I will talk about the Autistic Sense of Justice, in this thread referred to as the ASJ. What is it?

Short version: ASJ means autistic people tend to have a consistent moral code and are viscerally pained by violations. It doesn't mean we're inherently morally better.

Long version: A thread.
