It’s why I’m on here far far far far less, and more liberal with the block button.
Hehe, more liberal. Ah puns.

Also more contemporary phrasing, which makes sense since Tom Clancy is more contemporary.
Though I doubt he’ll appear in a time traveling episode of Star Trek.

Yeah I like Clancy’s punchier quote than Twain’s that essentially says the same thing, though I doubt people will be reading Tom Clancy in a century the way we still read Mark Twain.

Or as Tom Clancy put it, “The difference between fiction and reality? Fiction has to make sense.”

I don’t understand that reference at all, but yes. That is correct.

It’s amazing how many people who do remember to add alt text do it so poorly.
Adding links? Really?
The other thing I hate is when the description is wrong. I went off a while back about a screenshot of a tweet, and the alt was “[PERSON] being ridiculous.” Really? Text is the easiest thing to alt!

I will celebrate when everyone gets their November benefits, but this is good news.

27,000 by my calculation, or the equivalent of 3 per day for 25 years assuming $3 per coffee and ignoring inflation.

So as us millennials did a decade ago, indulge in the occasional overpriced croissant. Pleasures are what make life worth living.
Are we supposed to live in a closet and subsist on ramen for a decade while saving? Please.

Problem is, 20 percent of 410,800 is 82,160.
Unless you had an inheritance or make 200k a year, you’re not saving that.
Oh, and by the time you do save that up if you manage, housing costs will go up by at least 50 percent.

Mind you when you own a home, you also have to cover other expenses like home maintenance, replacing your own appliances. That adds up.
Saving up $12,324 is not easy!
If you want to save up 20 percent which is historically recommended, you’d cut your mortgage payments by 500 monthly!

Median home price right now is 410,800 in the US. About six years ago, it was nearly half that.
If you want to save a mere 3 percent down payment, that’s $12,324.
Current interest rates are 5.25 percent, assuming 1 percent property tax, that’s $2,646 per month ignoring home insurance.

Please remember to vote come November 4th. Local policies will have a direct impact on your life. They matter as much as the sexier national elections.
