Had no idea Wilfried Nancy was in the running for the Celtic job - good for him. Not sure if he's going to make the final cut but based on how his MLS teams have done he 100% deserves to be in the conversation.
🍀 ACSOM is LIVE at 12:30!

🗣️ Nancy, Knutsen, Hayen or McKenna? Who should be Celtic's next manager?

The touchdown because I underestimated how bad the signal was on the second floor. Go birds, never in doubt.

My watch says the E-A-G-L-E-S-EAGLES after that turnover was quite loud.

And here is the Nihonbashi Philly tomato pie.

Good morning from Nihonbashi Philly where the game doesn’t kick off for another hour but most of the table seats are already taken.

As always I am open to commissions from US soccer outlets on how the #JLeague has spent 3+ years preparing for its transition to fall-spring.
You’ve probably heard that the MLS Board of Governors is meeting this week to discuss, among other things, a move to the “European” schedule. My understanding is that there’s no way that happens in 2026, but there’s a very real possibility that it could happen in 2027.

Absolutely none of my recent BlueSky followers pass the vibe check; anyone else seeing an uptick in spam accounts?

In J3 action today, #FCOsaka notched a 3-0 win over AC Nagano Parceiro - in front of just 727 fans at Takebishi Stadium in Kyoto, in a match that kicked off at 3pm on a Monday.

Went over to the hellsite to look for crowd shots and shocked to learn they have an English account!

The #JLeague is touting a massive achievement tonight: the 2025 season has already set a new record for total annual attendance across the league, with two rounds remaining in the J1 and J2 as well as three remaining in the J3.

Seems very likely that the J1 will break last year's overall count...

You're sending angry voicemails to your senators, I'm sending angry emails to @nytimes.com because the rebus puzzles they've been sneaking into their crosswords don't work on the iPad app and make the answers impossible to parse, we are not the same.

Called it.
I guess the question is whether you want him to deal with the jet lag; he wouldn't be getting back to Vancouver till about the 20th.

My instinct is that it's going to be Brandon Nozawa getting the call-up instead but I could be wrong!

This pattern is repeating itself since at least a decade and shows in my opinion that the gap between JFL and RLs has become too wide. I just hope that the JFA is utilizing the transition to fall-spring to clean up their structures a little bit. *cough* e.g. JFL 2 with three divisions *cough*

Sustainable growth begins at the roots, so it would be about time to improve the way how teams enter the JFL. The current modus operandi via #ChiikiCL and #ShakIjin is archaic and not beneficial for promoted teams, who usually struggle at least half a season before perhaps gaining any traction.
The point was to expand the professional pyramid; if it temporarily made the JFL a company/semi-pro heavy league that was incidental.

The JFL has always been an amateur league, and Honda is steadfastly an amateur club.

The challenge now is making sure the pro pyramid can grow sustainably…

Full time at Kokuritsu with FC Tokyo winning 1-0.

These two teams will be back here in exactly one week for the Emperor's Cup semifinal, and the winner will play here a third time in the Nov. 22 final.

RB Omiya Ardija score in the 77th against Mito Hollyhock! JEF and Fujieda still tied at 1-1 in stoppage time. J1 promotion race about to tighten up significantly if these scores all hold up.
November 9, 2025 at 6:55 AM
Leon Nozawa just sent what would have probably been a Goal of the Month candidate into the post and we're still at 0-0.
November 9, 2025 at 6:39 AM
The Mito Hollyhock-Omiya Ardija game has been suspended for the last 13 minutes because a fan potentially needed urgent medical care. Players returning to the pitch now and match will restart in a couple minutes. #jleague

#Zelvia fans basically ignoring the random J-Pop group doing a mini-live. Usually it’s the away supporters who are disrespecting the performers!
November 9, 2025 at 4:46 AM
Had read Machida #Zelvia sold over 60,000 tickets for today's match vs. #FCTokyo; hoping the other 40,000 show up in time for kickoff but lines for food and drink were quite long outside so this may very well fill up in the next 40 minutes.
