One of my biggest takeaways from living in Tokyo was that the city is incredible in spite of the fact that 95% of the architecture is unremarkable.

It makes the years-long design review process for a single apartment building in the U.S. seem all the more frivolous.
Tokyo is a city that makes the argument that architecture is irrelevant.

What matters more is urbanism:

The street network

The density

The freedom of uses

The clustering around rail

For everyone saying the solution is just to get off Twitter/X—that’s not going to cut it. This problem preceded Grok, it preceded Twitter, it preceded the internet itself. It will outlast the AI boom. It’s a problem of patriarchy, which is reinforced with violence.

Official: Kim has been fired, with #Avispa citing "compliance violations" but refraining from disclosing details, which sure sounds a lot like "he did more power harassment but our lawyers are still figuring out how badly we fucked up."

#Avispa Fukuoka are reportedly getting ready to sack embattled manager Kim Myung-hwi as the team heads into preseason training from TODAY.

Kim managed Sagan Tosu from '19-21 before being stripped of his JFA 'S' coaching badge over a power harassment case. His appointment at Avispa was not popular.

Hayato Inamura joins #FCTokyo on loan 🔵🔴!

Again, I doubt #JLeague fans need a refresher but I did write about Hayato Inamura's strengths (passing 🔀) & weaknesses (aerial duels✈️) in full detail, here 🔗: shogunsoccer.com/p/shogun-soc...

it's so stupid that a game between two eliminated teams will decide who makes the NFL playoffs. clearly they need a better system: having 12 athletic directors with obvious conflicts of interest sit in cloaks in a fancy hotel ballroom and decide which teams get in (one must be Alabama)

🍀 Today's Celtic team to face Rangers.

There are three changes from the team defeated at Motherwell with Arne Engels, Luke McCowan and Johnny Kenny all returning.

New signing Julian Araujo is on the bench.

The soccer offsides rule is so confusing. You can't run ahead of the defensive team but you can pull a hood over their head, stuff them into a cargo plane and take them to your country and run a show trial against them. Didn't that involve illegal use of hands?
I can't believe that the recipient of the FIFA Peace Prize would kidnap the president of a sovereign nation!

Speaking of surprise exfiltrations, #Cerezo Osaka defender Niko Takahashi, who is eligible to represent Spain, Argentina and Japan (but has represented the latter in youth competitions), is joining Dutch second-division side Almere City on a half-season loan. Yanmar owns both clubs.

Mito #Hollyhock announce that GK Kenta Matsuyama, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Urawa Reds, is preparing for an overseas transfer.

He has not made any official appearances since 2023, when he spent roughly half the season as the starter at Kagoshima United in the J3. #jleague

Is Ando the second player with J3 experience to land at a top-flight European club (following Tomoki Iwata at Celtic)? I'm almost certain he has to be the first Imabari alum.

This is a big testament to the stability and productivity of the Japanese pyramid at both grassroots and pro levels.
- Interesting career trajectory rising through the #JLeague:
J3: FC Imabari (2021, 2022 seasons)
J2: Oita Trinita (2023, 2024)
J1: Avispa Fukuoka (2025)

No prior national team caps at any youth level. Performances this year led to first call-up in July 2025.
