TIL that not only would Wilfried Nancy be Celtic's *second* Black manager, but the first was, erm, responsible for this headline:

I just don't know... I think the uniform is B but the markings are too bubbly/blocky. Not sure if that's enough to drop it to C though.

AND ANOTHER ONE! Nadeshiko League 2 side Diosa Izumo FC, who in their debut last year made it all the way to the pro-rel playoff where they lost 3-2 on aggregate to Nittaidai SMG Yokohama, have stunned the WE League's RB Omiya Ardija in penalties.

#WoSo Cupset in the second round of the Empress's Cup this morning as JFA Academy Fukushima, an U18 team that competes in the Nadeshiko League 2 (third division), have taken down the #WELeague 's Chifure AS Elfen Saitama.

Ghana fans after that game:

Are you really living your best life if you aren't doing it in #JLeague socks?
November 14, 2025 at 9:46 AM
Interestingly enough the JFA appears to have done some overseas media sales for this game so overseas fans will be able to watch it, though I have no idea who Solidsport are.
November 14, 2025 at 9:42 AM
Translation of the JFA's statement on the key visual change, which is drawing applause as well as complaints that the new visual doesn't have a Japanese flag and other accusations of deep state fuckery.
November 14, 2025 at 9:41 AM
Yeaaaaah there it is.

Some right-wingers are complaining that JO1 have a history of anti-Japanese messages in their live sets... never mind that nobody cared when the team itself used the same design after clinching qualification in March.

More normal fans are just fed up with the tarento thing.

In "oh god not another culture war" news, the Japan Football Association unveiled a new key visual (left) for 2026 team ambassadors JI BLUE, composed of members from boy bands JO1 and INI, after the original visual (right) drew a wave of criticism from Japanese netizens.

Why, you may ask?
November 14, 2025 at 9:37 AM
Like I’m not going to promise tikitaka out of Blaublitz Akita but there are teams you watch because they’re fun on the pitch and then there are teams you watch because the famous local lantern festival does halftime exhibitions. To understand J is to understand Japan!

The touchdown because I underestimated how bad the signal was on the second floor. Go birds, never in doubt.

My watch says the E-A-G-L-E-S-EAGLES after that turnover was quite loud.

And here is the Nihonbashi Philly tomato pie.

In case anyone was wondering what the only Eagles bar in Japan serves at 9am.
November 10, 2025 at 11:58 PM
Good morning from Nihonbashi Philly where the game doesn’t kick off for another hour but most of the table seats are already taken.
November 10, 2025 at 11:55 PM
There was also a robot bartender.
November 10, 2025 at 11:09 PM
Ah memories of the Beijing 2022 Closed Loop.

Absolutely none of my recent BlueSky followers pass the vibe check; anyone else seeing an uptick in spam accounts?

The #JLeague is touting a massive achievement tonight: the 2025 season has already set a new record for total annual attendance across the league, with two rounds remaining in the J1 and J2 as well as three remaining in the J3.

Seems very likely that the J1 will break last year's overall count...

No “眠らない街” from #FCTokyo fans who are firmly focused on the EC now.
