To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.

Trump will be enabled as long as there are no consequences for it. He’s virtually never been popular, but his unpopularity doesn’t translate into action or impact. Until Republicans in safe districts hear that they’re going to lose due to proximity to him, they’re gonna stay the course
