A "Pineapple Express" storm is heading for the Pacific Northwest, but it's arriving at the exact same time as King Tides. This dangerous combination of heavy rain, 70 MPH winds, and the year's highest tides creates a severe risk for coastal flooding

Hurricane Melissa is the THIRD Category 5 storm of 2025, tying the record set by the legendary 2005 season.
And get this, 80% of this season's hurricanes have reached Category 4 or 5 strength. That's the highest percentage in Atlantic history.

While unlikely, Florida isn’t out of the woods with #Melissa. Our latest Coastal Awareness model keeps a few tracks brushing the peninsula but the bigger concern is for the islands, which should be preparing for a strong, slow-moving storm.

Heads up, there's a tropical system brewing in the Caribbean called Invest 98L. It's expected to hit several islands before its future path becomes clear, with Florida and the southeastern U.S. possibly in its sights. It's a good time to keep an eye on the forecast.

YallBot’s takin’ a quick nap while we finish v3. I’m rebuilding the whole backend to kick off our new per-state YallBot program.
First up: a brand-new national 24/7 stream, better graphics, more uptime, and a much smarter, more interactive YallBot.
Back soon better than ever.

I'm building 24/7 YallBot weather streams for EVERY SINGLE STATE in America! Each one locally focused, live, and running nonstop. Which state should we launch first? Can probably handle 1-2 new states per month while we scale up the backend.

FLOOD ALERT today and tomorrow (Oct. 6-7).
A Level 2 out of 4 risk for excessive rainfall is in place, with some areas potentially seeing 3-6 inches of rain. While the moisture is much-needed for the drought-stricken region, it may come too fast for the dry ground to absorb.
