Here's a fun thought experiment: at what point did the voters decide he isn't a first ballot entry? When Brady won without him? When he left the league? When he started dating a fetus? His performance at UNC? Or from the first moment because he's just so hatable?
A stunner from @dvnjr.bsky.social and me: Bill Belichick is not a first ballot Hall of Famer. He didn't get elected this year. The 8-time champion failed to 40 out of the 50 votes required for induction.

This group was founded post 10/7. They cleverly chose a name that makes them sound venerable and respectable but they are basically the Jewish version of Moms for Liberty, completely batshit.
I think it's really bad that the group that claims to speak for Jews at Columbia University is so grossly xenophobic.

Also - Mamdani did grow up in NYC.

Understand that 370 days ago even bringing a motion like this would probably have been treated as sanctionably frivolous

Today it was granted ex parte
A federal judge issues a restraining order against the feds, barring them from "destroying or altering evidence"

This was murder. Pretti did not initiate the confrontation. He didn’t strike them. He didn’t brandish his gun. They tackled him, beat him, disarmed him, and shot him.
Holy crap.

This is the most damning video yet.

It shows Border Patrol agents clearly taking Alex's firearm, running it away, and THEN executed him in cold blood by emptying a clip into his face.

Murder.

Two women trained as first responders were abducted by three ICE agents. One of the agents starts seizing. The other two don’t know what to do. The women jump into action and save the agent’s life, only to be re-handcuffed and processed.

Detained by ICE, two women became first responders during agent’s seizure
The women say they guided agents through the emergency, later raising concerns about medical protocols, weapons safety and accountability.

Excellent piece.

I was asked about a 1L grade in an interview this year: “why did you get a B in Rhetoric?” My response of “I don’t know, I was 22 and it was 15 years ago” did not secure a job offer.

A wild thing about stays is that, yes, this is usually how it works. No explanation need be given for rendering ineffectual a district judge's extensively reasoned opinion finding that absent an injunction, lawless things will likely happen.

They expect - they NEED - the people they threaten to fall in line, like the law firms and universities and media companies and billionaires and Congress did. If you say “No, make me,” they simply do not have a Plan B. TRUMP DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH GUYS TO MAKE YOU.

Let me give you a thought experiment:

Imagine not just a ban on qualified immunity for authority, but a reversal; a new legal framework, under which authority bears greater responsibility than civilians in matters involving force—as it should.

Absolute Immunity
Alignment with supremacy is a vile choice. Raising the natural costs for those who make that choice by putting first things first.

Child tax credits, childcare subsidies, clean air and water, immigration, affordable health care, and quality education are all progressive answers.

Conservatives hate children and the women who have them. NPR’s framing is nonsensical.

If there's one empirical insight I'd want everyone to understand about American politics, it's this:

America's problems are solved problems. Just not here.

What would change if the US simply matched the average of 31 peer democracies? Not Denmark or Norway. Just the middle of the pack. 🧵

Every time a Senate Republican threatens to withhold a vote in the future, remember that they could pump the brakes today, instead.
The opportunity to caucus with the Democrats, giving them control of the Senate until the fascism stops, also remains available to Tillis, Murkowski, Collins, & Paul.
Trump’s attack on Fed already starting to backfire. Republican Sen. Tillis: “I will oppose the confirmation of any nominee for the Fed—including the upcoming Fed Chair vacancy—until this legal matter is fully resolved.”
