"Art doesn't lie - it is just waiting to be seen"
"For months I’ve been calling on the media to write headlines like 'Trump is building a dictatorship.' Because he is, and there’s a mountain of evidence to support that conclusion. The failure to do that keeps us sliding toward authoritarianism."
That old metaphor about the frog and the boiling water isn’t true: If you put a frog in a pot of water and slowly raise the heat, the frog will jump out before it gets boiled to death.
The question now is whether American journalists are smarter than frogs.

What an a$$hole. There's more to this story... Follow the money.
Durbin is a YES on this deal: “At Democrats’ urging, today’s bill is not the same one we’ve voted down 14 times. Republicans finally woke up and realized their Groundhog Day needed to end. This bill is not perfect, but it takes important steps to reduce their shutdown’s hurt.”

Truth.
My section editors, easily half a dozen, in the last few years looked exactly like Ross Douthat, pale nervous ill-dressed beardy remnant males unable to make eye contact. It was a men's room. I would not be as vicious as the NYT and claim men ruined newsrooms. They just kept everything the same.
