I have taken a couple of artistic liberty raptor orders in the past, but they all had a fantasy element to them, this is my first time taking a crack at making an "actual critter" of a dinosaur, how did I do?

I cannot sufficiently underline how despicable it is that the IOC has required Haitian Olympic athletes to remove an image representing the leader of the Haitian Revolution (against SLAVERY) from their uniforms.

I feel like Los Angeles is a place where people expect ICE to happen because the kidnappings have been happening to my home city for decades, so there’s less media attention to it now. and I want folks to see that in LA, Latine students are organizing major protests & the police are attacking them

LAPD arrested at least two teenagers protesting ICE raids in Los Angeles yesterday. They were also seen corresponding with ICE agents on Alameda Street during the demonstrations.

I’m not usually a sports person, but I am a huge sap about the Olympics.

I also firmly believe that if you have an opening ceremony, sports should not start happening before the ceremony that supposedly opens the sports.

STET is one of the reasons I am afraid of short stories. I read it casually and was hollowed out for at least a day. So yes, it absolutely needs to be taught in schools alongside other short stories that will haunt you forever.
STET is a story that should have been mandatory reading in high schools, colleges, and universities since the day it was published. Also, just as a piece of art, a piece of short SF on the digital page, it was always a marvel.
For several particular reasons today, "STET" by Sarah Gailey is extremely on my mind. STET share.google/ODadlV1br3eH...

This is superb. Ian McKellen delivers a blistering pro-immigration monologue written by Shakespeare, that makes you want to punch the air with exhilaration. Wow, wow, wow.

An absolute must-watch. (Starts at 20:10 but the entire interview is a joy.) youtu.be/2l2RqzVG4ag

Kelly Vargas writes about what happened to her, her husband, and their 6yo daughter in the family camp in Texas.

Filth, illness, medical abuse—her child has lasting complications from being injured by a staff member.

We don't know the half of what's happening in the camps, but we know enough.

Good god. We've spent a decade with the British media - including the BBC - claiming that the 'gender critical' movement wanted to 'protect women and girls'.

And it turns out Jeffrey Epstein was funding part of it.
I'm not being facetious. Epstein was apparently giving talking points to the people pushing anti trans rhetoric in the UK.

Do you have a "hard" or "soft" magic system?

In other words, does your magic system have strictly defined rules (think: Brandon Sanderson's books)? Or is it more undefined, mostly vibes/rule of cool (think: Gandalf from LOTR)? Somewhere in between?
