Heather Humphreys was a disaster as minister in charge of heritage and nature. She didn't meet nature groups and seemed to have no interest in her job expect for when it came to weaking wildlife laws to allow more burning and hedge-cutting.

This is BAD. Many countries assisted with building the containment over reactor 4. Because Chernobyl is an existential threat. Canada donated over 66 million dollars. Building this was an example of extreme engineering. That a drone could do this to any nuclear facility has been a concern.

The hole in the roof of the protective 'New Safe Confinement' containment shell over destroyed Reactor 4 of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine after a Russian drone targeted it last night. #MSC2025

Criticism of Israeli war crimes isn't anti-semitism. This essay on Israel's war crimes was penned by, let me see, oh, Israel's former Prime Minister.

Non-natives rarely have positive benefits. I’ve seen native moths trying to use non-native salix species here in Westray. Caterpillars munch away on them and pupate, but not one I’ve seen has emerged as an adult insect. Often find m pupae dead in the tree.
New paper! If trees are closely related, does it matter where they are from to plant-eating insects? We raised >950 Promethea moth caterpillars on 14 Prunus species to answer that question. Turns out, it matters a lot! Non-native trees = Lower performance

Good:

* Poilievre isn't Prime Minister.
* Poilevre lost his own seat.

Bad:

* Everything has shifted substantially rightward.
* 40% of popular vote and +20 seats for Cons.
* Basically a two-party parliament of centre right and far right.
* Left leaning parties wiped out.

Cutting down of the sycamore gap sycamore tree was really stupid, but far worse is happening all around us to much more important ecosystems for wildlife, yet the public don't react as they did for this one tree. Do people care more that they lost a photo opportunity? www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cv...
