Wait a minute, this looks like more than just simple system level button remapping. The actions are labeled per button! Are they labeled in this UI PER GAME? If so, that is huge! Having them labeled is huge help!
YOU CAN NOW BUTTON REMAP the Game Boy and NES app on the Switch and Switch 2 👏

In the newest update to the system we have got access to button remapping via the overlay menu when in-game ❤️

This is a huge step forward for Nintendo, and makes retro game accessible for a whole new generation!

This game is an amazing way to learn about gaming accessibility…through gamification, what can be more perfect?

Help this game find its way to more players by playing it (it’s very short!) and leaving a review!
forgive me for the quick promo, but my first FREE game is almost at 50 reviews on steam, only 10 more to go!

as a reward, i'm planning on setting up a 50% off discount code for my patreon when the game hits 50 reviews. more info below, but EVERY REVIEW helps!

an unplayable game?! on Steam
a game about accessibility settings that's just a *bit* too hard for you to play effectively. 10-15 minutes in length with 30+ minutes of developer commentary!

Hey #gamedev #indiedev, pretty cool to see all these accessibility awards flying around eh? Would be handy if someone made a list of what and when they all are and when to submit, right?

Just played this myself and that Timing Assist feature is completely new to me. What a great feature! I hope other games learn from this and iterate on it, I definitely want to see it again.
Had a great time playing this - what an incredible example of motor accessibility in platformers.

As someone with bad reactions, if more platformers had these settings, I could actually play them and feel skilful.

Also loved the dev commentary! Absolutely recommend to play and learn from.

with the end of next fest, my first solo game "an unplayable game?!" is officially out for FREE on steam!

its a short platformer about accessibility settings and why they're important. only about 5-15 minutes, depending on how fast you figure it out!

I have an announcement!

I am rejoining @xbox.com as an Accessibility Program Manager!

My last contract with this team was the best job I’ve ever had, I am truly beside myself that I have this opportunity to return. 😭

EXACTLY what Laura is saying. This is HUGE for Nintendo! I hope they use this as a stepping stone and continue their accessibility journey in future first party games!!
I genuinely can't overstate how big a deal it is to see a first party Nintendo game feature a dedicated Accessibility menu like this, so well thought out, detailed in depth before game release.

There is literally no precident for this from Nintendo.

This is a huge leap forward.
Watching through the second Kirby Air Riders Nintendo Direct because I was told they discussed accessibility features during it.

First thing I have spotted, 40 ish mins in, there's a setting to slow down the speed of gameplay.

Nintendo Direct for Kirby Air Riders had Masahiro Sakurai presenting a whole section on accessibility, inc saying motion sickness was a personal priority for him & giving specific instructions on which buttons to remap for onehanded play. Nice!

This is not a drill! Sakurai just announced that there are IN GAME accessibility settings in the upcoming Kirby Air Riders game!!

Let’s go, Sakurai! Set the bar for Nintendo games and let’s challenge others to beat it! This is awesome!

Do this today, the nominations process is already underway!

You can't win awards if judges don't know your game exists & what you did. This is a good way to ensure they do.

Especially if you didn't already have huge market awareness & a big marketing budget.

If your game was released after November 22, 2024 and implements accessibility through design and/or options, please reach out to the Innovation in Accessibility jury for The Game Awards.

I just learned that other Mega Man fan games are adding Toggle Movement to their games as well as other accessibility options I helped designed.

I am SO hype about this. The community is learning from each other and our games will only be better because of it.

SO AWESOME!

This is HUGE NEWS for games made in Unity!

If you're a Unity dev you can now add native screen reader support for mobile and PC/Mac using the native OS screen readers! So Windows Narrator and macOS VoiceOver will be able to be used in PC/Mac games!!!!

This will be HUGE for blind players!!!
Unity is expanding support for native screen readers, making it easier for developers to implement screen reader support for blind accessibility on more platforms.

After Android and iOS, starting with Unity 6.3 it supports Windows and MacOS as well.
