Attorney General William Tong

Connecticut Attorney General, dad, fly fisher. Love food, especially local food.
The Trump administration is trying the same thing again, even though they already failed in court. A judge allowed Revolution Wind to move forward and work had resumed.
Every delay on this project will cost Connecticut ratepayers millions of dollars. We're going to stop this, just like last time.

We already went to court over this and we won. A federal court allowed work to resume on Revolution Wind.
Now, the Trump administration is trying once again to stop it. We are moving to block this latest attempt and continue to work toward delivering clean, affordable energy for CT families.

Thousands of older adults lose their lifesavings to online romance scams each year.
I'm partnering with AARP Connecticut on a new PSA to raise awareness and help stop these scams before they take another dollar or destroy another life.

A year of fighting for Connecticut families, accountability, and the rule of law.
Proud of the work we've accomplished. Ready for what's next.

Merry Christmas! Peace and goodwill to all. Quiche and home cured and smoked salmon, finished with Gingerbread. A Tong Tasting Christmas tradition.

We're suing to stop a dangerous and unlawful attack on gender-affirming care.
Washington politicians have no right to override doctors, parents, and evidence-based medicine or threaten providers with the loss of Medicare and Medicaid for caring for kids. This is cruel and lawless.

Al generated weight loss ads are flooding social media, using fake images and fabricated claims to sell non-FDA approved drugs.
These ads are misleading consumers and hide the real rIsks.
We are demanding Meta enforce its own policies and stop them.

The Trump administration is once again trying to illegally shut down Revolution Wind. They already lost in court and a federal judge allowed the project to move forward. This new order ignores the court and the law, and we’re fighting back.

Mercedes cheated emissions tests, and we held them accountable. Connecticut led 50 attorneys general in securing a nearly $150 million settlement. Our state will receive almost $5 million, consumers will get repairs, warranties, and payments.

A federal judge just blocked HUD from imposing illegal conditions that would have cut off long term housing for thousands of people while also punishing providers serving vulnerable people. We sued, and we won.
This court order keeps people off the streets while HUD is forced to follow the law.

A meaningful day at Mercy Housing, serving meals and spending time with people who remind us how important it is to care for one another.
Thankful for the volunteers & staff who lead with kindness every single day.

Today we announced a multi state settlement with Hyundai and Kia for selling millions of vehicles without basic, industry standard anti theft technology.
This failure helped fuel a nationwide spike in auto thefts and reckless joy riding that threatened public safety.

I’m joining the FTC and other states to hold Uber accountable for allegedly misleading customers who signed up for Uber One. A free trial shouldn’t come with early charges, exaggerated savings, or difficulty canceling the subscription. CT customers deserve transparency and fair treatment.

Wishing everyone celebrating the first night of Hanukkah a meaningful and peaceful holiday.

On this anniversary, we remember the 26 lives lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School thirteen years ago.
The recent shootings at Brown University and in Australia are painful reminders of the work still before us, and we stand in solidarity with those communities.

We sued. We won. A federal court just struck down the Trump Administration’s unlawful freeze on all wind-energy projects. This ruling protects good jobs, lowers energy costs, and keeps Connecticut on track for a cleaner, affordable energy future.

Today, I begin my term as President of the National Association of Attorneys General after a unanimous vote by attorneys general from both parties. This year, I’ll lead a national initiative focused on driving down costs for American families, from unlawful price fixing to housing and healthcare.

Big announcement coming today.

A decade of evidence. Dozens of drug companies. Billions in inflated prices.
From 2016 to now, CT has led the charge against generic drug price fixing. Now, a judge has rejected yet another of the drug makers’ attempts to shut down many of our claims, and this case is moving forward.

We've secured a major preliminary injunction blocking the Trump Admin from enforcing its "defund provision," which targeted Planned Parenthood & other health centers.
This protects access to cancer screenings, STD testing and treatment & birth control for more than a million people nationwide.
