I am by no means a prominent public intellectual, but my inbox is increasingly filled with messages from people who have been convinced by sycophantic chatbots that they have discovered revolutionary theories that entirely upend our scientific understanding of the universe.

This is 100% what Disney should be doing with the IP. Each december should be a another one. Muppets kill bill, Kerminator 2, Muppets game of thrones. They could make a ton of money and incredible artistic choices.

This is a desperately sad story, one doubtless repeated across the country, but it’s also desperately stupid:

“an independent report … estimated the centre is saving the council more than £500,000 a year in costs that include services in mental health, youth justice and social care”
Last youth centre in one of England’s most deprived coastal areas faces closure
Pie Factory Music in Ramsgate, Kent, runs creative projects and provides a range of support services, but the building that houses the centre is due to be sold off in February

Agreed. The old technique of creating a villain as a foil for your personal hero isn't great when the maligned individual is long dead, but it's clear defamation when they're alive (see my old post on the former, inspired by Langley www.theguardian.com/science/the-...)
