Ubers are now on par if not more expensive than regular taxis lol

What was the point of this “disruption” other than another data grab and low paid slave labour by tech bros under the guise of “gig economy”.

When people say they want to go back to a time "when men were men", I point them to Issue 2528 of the "Men in Belted Sweaters" catalogue.

I haven’t played any Hollow Night: Silksong yet but Lordy Lord is the soundtrack a delight to listen to on its own.

One of the most underrated design skills in games is graphic design for things like decals and fake branding for posters/stickers/flyers/books/props/signs/displays.

We take this stuff for granted and yet they are very much a world building detail that adds so much more life to environments.

"AI companies’ press releases are anchored in long-term power-purchase agreements for wind, solar, and increasingly nuclear. But the backup systems that underwrite data center reliability—and determine what happens during outages—are overwhelmingly diesel"
AI’s Dirty Secret: Why Diesel Still Powers the Digital Age
AI’s demand for data centers relies on diesel generators because outdated permitting and reliability rules make cleaner backup power too slow to deploy.

I noticed whenever a show/movie decides to have these quiet, introspective moments like in Eternals, The Acolyte, or even Andor, that’s when people decide to call it “slow” or poorly written. It’s like no, you’ve just conditioned yourself to see action moments as the only valid thing.

Freedom is just another word for nothin' left to lose
Nothin', don't mean nothin' hon' if it ain't free, no-no
And feelin' good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues
You know feelin' good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee

There's a man goin' 'round takin' names
And he decides who to free and who to blame
Everybody won't be treated all the same
There'll be a golden ladder reachin' down
When the man comes around

Reminds me of how John Harris cites transcendental meditation for helping him harnass lucid dreams to inspire a lot of his art. This one's from a dream he had about the moon crashing into the earth

I keep seeing some incredible fantasy art on my Discover TL and then I find out the artist is like over 80 now. The older, pulp sci-fi and fantasy art all have a certain edge that feel lost now amid the DnD/ MtG styles and colour palettes.

Amazingly, reaction times using screens while driving are worse than being drunk or high—no wonder 90 percent of drivers hate using touchscreens in cars. Finally the auto industry is coming to its senses.
