Here's my #TTRPG games. It's just me designing, writing, editing and art directing; I do it because I'm passionate about the #rpg hobby and I love to share that passion.

My short D12 titles are PWYW, so head on over and get a rules-light fast action bargain.

One thing I need to spend more time on is my TTRPG 'A Dark Star To Steer By'. It's pretty much completed, sitting at 27k words and it just needs some playtesting, an artist and a publisher.

It's the 19th century version of my RPG 'Those Dark Places'.

At the Lichfield Civic Hall they had an old one on a trolley. It was awful.

Age verification?

I went to see Return of the Jedi, bought pop and popcorn beforehand and got a bag of chips on the way home, all for £1.50.
Age verification?

I could buy a BIG bag of loose sweets, or maybe a Double Decker, out of the change from buying the latest copy of White Dwarf, paid with a pound note.
Age verification? We could not play outside for a while because of Chernobyl.

*sigh* Tuesday. Another day in which I'm still not a full time writer.

I still need to give this a proper edit/rewrite and sit it down for more playtesting.

I almost bought this framed print from the antiques store - Night Mist by Montague Dawson. It's a beautiful painting and really captures a mood, the kind of thing that really suits me when I'm working on my 'A Dark Star to Steer By' TTRPG.

Was that the Hal Foster one? I've got a collection volume of those - another thing to dig out of storage!

I loved the 'The Legend of Prince Valiant' cartoon; I was 20 years old when it first aired but it appealed to me on a lot of levels.

I must dig my DVDs out, they'll be stored away with my D&D and Ulysses 31 boxsets.

Lol - if I ran that I'd have an aneurysm.

Half the books I own came from there. Now sci-fi and fantasy is just a section of suitably popular titles hidden in a chain store.

Now, there's a much-missed place. I adored it.

The only thing working against me running a TTRPG campaign is time.

The other thing is choice. My ADHD brain really wants to settle on one genre, but right now I'm bouncing between fantasy, cyberpunk and starships. I also want to do it face-to-face.

I long for my younger years. Time felt endless.

"As I did stand my watch upon the hill,
I looked toward Birnam, and anon methought
The Wood began to move."
the bushes were people 😂

Jesus Christ. Now that I've read that back to myself all I can think is that I've wasted 20 years. I should have addressed my anxiety sooner.

I did that to myself. I could have taken control, asked for help, but I didn't. Honestly, if you feel this way reach out to someone and help yourself.

In fact, the short story 'Heirloom' in the 2025 Battletech magazine Shrapnel is my first piece of published fiction since then. I'd written lots of fiction since 2004 but none of it was for public consumption.

It was easier to write stuff for RPGs - I never felt I was opening up any part of myself.

It's been nearly 22 years since I was published in the BSFA magazine FOCUS. You can see my love for industrial sci-fi, it was about blue-collar workers salvaging a starship, it's a slice-of-life story.

I was also published in the next issue, but then anxiety stopped me writing fiction for 10 years.

I've picked up the first two, I'm really looking forward to diving in. Most of the Trek novels I've read are TNG or DS9 so it'll be nice to go back to TOS and something different.

Just finished Dead Space Catalyst, I'm about to embark on the Star Trek Vanguard series.

The Dead Space books are really good and give some great lore and context to the overall story. It's a great franchise and I'll always whine that EA have just mothballed it when I get the chance. Like now.

This shot of Winterfell in Game of Thrones remains my favourite shot of the entire series. Talk about a mood.

Not the greatest photos, but what a beauty.

I've just been really lucky with it this weekend- where I am now I could have spent a lot more, there's some amazing stuff.

When I get home for sure.

What an absolute awesome antiques store find! The ALIEN derelict, in as-new condition with certificate of authenticity and boxed. £20! How could I say no to that?

Narrator: He can't.

I'm Lichfield born and bred so I'm writing what I love! Lol

What a stunning movie - O'Toole and Burton are an absolute revelation, what a fantastic pairing.
