How blissful it is to come from a culture (or class, or gender, etc) used to pointing the bayonet, and never know what it is to have the bayonets pointed at them.
But also utterly boring.
My biggest annoyance with "don't humanise monsters" is that it always, no exceptions, makes blander stories.

The team behind Obojima not only don’t care about Ghibli outside of the aesthetic, they also fully do not understand it. They’re either complete buffoons or actively bad people and the truth likely lies in the middle.

Tonight in Stonehell, the Beheading Gang decided to face four megatanium defence robots.
Result: zero defeated bots, 3 dead PCs. Two however have been reanimated, one as a balefire skeleton, one as a shadow wight.
Total number of campaign casualties: 21.

It's hard to believe that it's only been ten years since UCLA English Lit grad Lee Gold launched her influential zine Alarums & Excursions (named after Elizabethan drama). Its hard to believe, as it's actually 50 years, as it launched in 1975, and she only wrapped it this year.
I cannot express how pathetic you have to be to believe this happened in the TTRPG hobby in the last decade
