More elections are already around the corner, mere days.

And Democrats have opportunities to build on their November gains by flipping more offices: in Tennessee, in Georgia, in Florida.

And that's just the tip of a busy election month.

Tom Friedman’s piece in the NYT today again brings up the specter of Neville Chamberlain in ‘39. I disagree.

A better analogy is saying to Hitler: “keep the Sudetenland, don’t worry about the Holocaust, & we’ll give you a few years to rearm to attack into Belgium again. Let’s sign that!”

Really looks like the United States is about to launch a regime change war against Venezuela with:

-No casus belli
-No authorization from Congress
-No allies or international support
-No plan for a post-Maduro Venezuela
-No preparation for any sort of stabilization or containment of the fallout

6 people have died from a nationwide listeria outbreak.

31 babies have been hospitalized with botulism from contaminated baby formula.

Instead of firing crucial FDA employees & attacking the agency, Trump should be hiring more experts to crack down on these dangerous outbreaks.

Right the dynamic here in San Diego is that you can live a perfectly normal middle-class life on $100k/year here... if you bought your house 15 years ago or otherwise have some sort of housing hookup like a subsidized BMR unit.

Other option is to live an hour+ away from where the jobs are
Even in San Diego, a family making 136k a year isn’t exactly working class, much less living in poverty! There are many, many people making much less than that
I usually at least mildly understand where Stancil is coming from, but this is a wild take

$136k for a family of four would only just make ends meet in San Diego. Perhaps not “poverty” status but def not “saving money for emergencies and taking fun vacations” status, either

Increasing temperatures are already killing huge numbers of people.

A ProPublica and @us.theguardian.com analysis found that Trump’s “America First” agenda is expected to add substantially to the toll, with the vast majority of deaths occurring outside the U.S.

By @fastlerner.bsky.social
Trump’s Anti-Green Agenda Could Lead to 1.3 Million More Climate Deaths. The Poorest Countries Will Be Impacted Most.
Most of the people expected to suffer these temperature-related deaths live in poor countries in Africa and South Asia that are least prepared to cope with the increasing heat from climate change.
