Retired left leaning Labour supporter. Live and let live and whenever possible be kind, you really never know what is going on in other people’s lives.
More great work supports young people into work 👏👏👏
Labour focused on our youths.

- investing £725m more to deliver 50,000 extra apprenticeships

- new Youth Guarantee. Backed by £820m funding including Youth Hubs with experts on board to help

- brand new clearance-style system for apprenticeships, as in Universities

Sadly it’s what you have come to expect from the likes of Kuensberg Mason and co only interested in either psycho drama or pushing the Reform narrative not serious leadership

Huge applause as Starmer declares Britain has moved beyond the Brexit years. One of the strongest EU speeches by a PM in decades - yet barely covered by the BBC or MSM. While serious leadership is ignored, airtime still goes to Farage and recycled outrage. Kuenssberg, Zeffman, Mason, Gibb - out.

Here’s Reform UK Kent’s Councillor David Wimble threatening to pull funding for the Turner Contemporary in Margate.

Wonder what Tracey Emin would make of that.

It’s surprising Wimble is talking about funding, bearing in mind he’s know for the quote “numbers have never been my thing”.

Farage's lies about people not speaking English factchecked here.

NB Farage also claimed that "four million speak barely passable English" - this too is a lie.

I agree Tory/Reform majority would be the outcome under PR. The fact Farage wants PR tells me now is not the time to introduce it😏
PR has never been something Labour have ever said they would look at, has never been on the cards and, based on many polls, would allow Reform+Tories to form a majority.

PR is not an answer that many think it is.

Just wishful thinking. Was never coming and never will be.

It’s tax avoidance.
When the going gets tough, the tough apparently fook off to tax havens, because nothing screams “grit” like sprinting to a sun-soaked mailbox with a gold nameplate and zero responsibility. They call it 'prudence', of course, while the rest of us call it doing a runner....

I’m not buying this brown skinned politicians becoming racist & joining Reform. The Bravermans, Zahawis, Yusefs. They’re not racist. They’re morally bankrupt opportunists who want to extend their gravy train. At the cost of other brown skinned people & appease the very worst: white racists

Min wage up on average 5.7%
(lowest rise 4.1%) State pen up 4.8%. All positive news
The positive results of Rachel Reeves economic plan are taking hold in our economy. From April there are further increases to min wage/pensions, people will have more money in their pockets. Not to save in the Caymans but to spend in our High Streets. That’s good for our country

Goodwin is another Reform misogynist, their plan for us tied to a kitchen sink, having a football team of children. They are promoting their own failure as this is the strongest argument which convinces women not to vote for them.

All great stuff, I’d like more than fines for rule infringement, only because some parties have mega wealthy donors who will pick up the fines for them (reform). I like any candidate who breaches rule in a major way to be banned from standing.
This bill implements measures in the 2024 Labour manifesto that improve our democracy

- Votes at 16
- Easier registration
- Bank card as ID
- Restriction on foreign funding
- Higher fines for rule infringement

Some may want more, but these are a step forward
