🆕 Half a million more children will get access to Labour's free breakfast clubs next year – boosting parents' work choices and children's life chances.

I've written to eligible schools across Wirral West to encourage them to join the scheme.

Busy few days for our Labour government with lots of announcements and some Laws reaching Royal Assent stage. News on immigration, safe routes, puppy smuggling and lenders increase mortgage loans. The economy is stable and talk of another Bank interest rate cut later in December.

Back in the real world this Gov't has delivered:
- 1.5% GDP growth
- wage rises > inflation
- minimum wage increases
- stable debt:GDP ratio
- stability in bond markets
- 500,000 kids lifted from poverty
- leadership around 🇺🇦 & defense
- falling NHS waiting lists

Are we all aware of Truss legacy?

🎄 Advent Day 3
Everyone deserves safe and secure housing especially at Christmas. That’s why the Labour government passed the Renters’ Rights Bill, scrapping no-fault evictions and giving renters greater security in their homes.

Got a taxi home last night, chatting to the driver, he came here, with his family, from Afghanistan in 2021. He said when he was living in a hotel, other refugees where saying you don’t want to stay in Liverpool people don’t like refugees. For a moment I was ashamed of my city.

If my calculations are correct since Labour took office:

* over 4100MW of solar has been approved across 12 major solar farm projects

* over 4600MW of off-shore win has been approved across 4 windfarm projects

* 4 off-shore windfarms & 2 major solar farms are close to having decisions made

Legal aid was decimated under the Tories.

In the last year, Labour have supported the system with small pots of funding in specific areas.

But following a major review and consultation on funding, they have today announced an increase of £92m more funding to rebuilt after years of neglect!
Multi-million-pound investment in legal aid to boost access to justice for victims
Criminal legal aid solicitors will receive up to £92 million more a year to help address the ongoing challenges in the criminal justice system.

Put's things in to perspective. This is a lot of people!

And with the other measures Labour are introducing to help feed children or support families with costs, it's not wonder they are on course to lift more children out of poverty in a single Parliament than we've ever seen before!

Look, I’m a union MP. I want the employment rights bill in full. But I am also a pragmatist. Unions sat round the table with business and ministers and hammered out a compromise which means protections from unfair dismissal come in from six months not two years and we get Royal Assent by Christmas

Just watched this episode of Pete Wicks: Man Made, with Keir Starmer.

In the episode he’s asked some difficult questions, including about his family, but he's quite open and thoughtful throughout.

Fundamentally, he's a good man with deeply ingrained principles, and this is why I'm pleased he's PM.
