It's great to be a part of the Housing, Communities and Local Government Select Committee, representing housing issues in our local area - which continues to be the most common topic that constituents ask for my assistance with. Great forum to feed back issues directly to ministers.

I was pleased to attend an 'End the Cage Age' event on Wednesday, which spoke about improving animal welfare standards and specifically on phasing out cages and ensuring all hens have the freedom to move and express natural behaviours. I am always keen to promote animal welfare. #EndTheCageAge

So all these years have passed, and Wroxton school have just sent me this, something I did whilst I was there! I'm glad to see I was concerned with making my mark on the school and leaving a legacy.

There are weather warnings in Banbury and North Oxfordshire due to Storm Claudia. Remember to take care if you're out and about, keeping an eye on the conditions. Allow extra time to travel and check up on friends and neighbours.

Grand Opening of Kebabish!🌯

It was great to go to the opening of the new Kebabish store on Monday, which is down on Calthorpe Street. The shop has just re-opened there after having been a staple on Broad Street for many years. It smelled delicious!

It was great to accompany Richard Greaves, from local business Cleenol, to Number 11 Downing Street last night.

The reception was an opportunity for the views of local businesses to be represented directly to the Chancellor who is currently preparing to deliver the Budget later this Autumn.

I was honoured to lay a wreath on the GWR Poppy Train to mark Remembrance this morning. The train arrived into Charlbury at around 8:30am, before making its way down to London for 11am. The wreaths were then placed at the War Memorial alongside wreaths from the GWR network. #PoppiestoPaddington

It was great to visit InstaVolt last week. It is a great site for electric vehicle charging in the local area.

I spoke with Mr Lane about increases in cable theft and vandalism at EV charging sites. I am glad that protective measures have been implemented.

I have signed a letter to the Managing Director of FirstPort, following an inquiry session I attended on the company recently. There have been many issues and complaints from constituents towards the company, so this is something I have been following and working on.

Oxfordshire County Council have been given over £20m by the government to repair our roads.

So it's frankly astonishing that they are saying some roads in Banbury won't be repaired for more than a century.

I attended the Remembrance service in Chipping Norton to pay my respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. This was at the same time as the Banbury service, so I asked my former Cherwell District Council colleague Mark Cherry to attend on my behalf.

We will remember them.

Today, I am honouring those who have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

We remember the Armed Forces, and their families, from Britain and the Commonwealth, the vital role played by the emergency services and those who have lost their lives as a result of conflict or terrorism.
