somehow being gen x from new jersey hasn't left me jaded enough to be completely bewildered by how our nation has turned so far away from democratic principles in not even a year.
This absolutely brightened my day. Now if it can only happen here.
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

Hey @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social what the crap? Is it at all possible for the democratic leadership to rise to this occasion instead of backing down EVERY SINGLE TIME?!?
The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

86 Dems joined Republicans in supporting the measure, incl. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Fuck Texas, fuck trump, fuck yes.
MAJOR NEWS: Federal judges, including a Trump appointee, just BLOCKED Texas Republicans from using their new gerrymandered congressional map in 2026, ruling it was likely an illegal racial gerrymander. TX must revert to its 2021 map as Trump’s redistricting power grab collapses.

“I wish I was allowed to dismember journalists here. We’re getting there, but I can’t do that yet. Not that I want to, because but I can’t do it yet.”
Trump: I’m very proud of the job he’s done. What he’s done is incredible in terms of human rights.

Funny, how MAGA is *outraged* over someone who is simply a Muslim in the New York City mayor's mansion, but has no comment about a Muslim who is an actual murderer in the White House.

Cutting 30,000 jobs at the VA, which will put veterans' services at risk.

Firing federal workers across government, many of whom are veterans.

Gutting SNAP & Medicaid, which millions of veterans need.

Our vets defended us, and this is how the Trump regime is repaying them?

listen, schumer is a giant waste of oxygen, but on this, he is correct.
Schumer responded on the Senate floor today:“For this administration to go all the way to the Supreme Court just to get out of having to pay SNAP benefits for hungry kids is pathological levels of vindictiveness. This crisis is in the administration’s hands. It’s all them, not anyone else.” C-SPAN
