it is really important to recognize that the administration does a lot of things that are terrifying and dangerous and at the same time stupid and counterproductive

There’s so much distrust of government because people just don’t understand things. The fireside chats by FDR should be an example to follow. Make government accessible to understand and you’ll get more buy in. Build trust with honesty and openness

Even after Trump is gone, the world will remember that he threatened to forcibly seize the territory of a peaceful democratic ally, and our institutions failed to immediately remove him. That makes US dangerously unreliable, not just one senile gangster.
His not being impeached by the end of the business day as a result of this threat is as much a problem as the threat itself. It’s not just Trump that the world has to worry about, it’s a GOP that supports him and Democrats who suck their thumbs and refuse to even discuss pushing to remove him

When Trump is gone we need to just hammer home every time it comes up that 1) he’s a moron 2) the founders didn’t want a king for precisely this reason. They didn’t want moronic decisions from one person to impact the whole country.
