Everyone deserves food, healthcare, housing and an education.
They shouldn’t have to “prove they matter” to access basic support.
They shouldn’t be forced to justify their “worth” to have a chance at survival.
This shouldn’t be up for debate.
We have enough to help everyone.

You don't have to judge Columbus by the standards of today. His tenure as governor of Hispaniola was so horrific that he was dragged back to Spain in chains to answer for his many crimes.
Plus he never set foot on any land that would ever be a part of the United States of America.

- no more spam texts and calls
- smaller cars with weaker headlights

history teacher in 50 years: So in September, that’s when the president signed an executive order criminalizing anti-fascism and saying all resistance would be crushed
student: oh so that’s when the whole country realized they were living under fascism
teacher: haha what? oh no lol not at all. no.

We cannot let the myth of American exceptionalism numb us into imagining we are above devolving into inhumanity.
We have every ingredient in place to become something historically monstrous.
It will happen here unless we refuse to allow it.

Neoliberalism has its many faults, but neoliberalism didn't cause a worldwide fascist uprising. You can't even blame Fox and Murdoch outside the anglosphere.
It is quite clearly an internet and social media phenomenon, and we need to deal with it accordingly.

The obvious Occam’s razor cause is just the internet, not any American sonderweg theory that sweeps in all the mistakes of past administrations and just so happens to prove that none of this would have happened if everyone had just listened to us before

“The internet gives ideologies that rely on mass indoctrination an extraordinary boost by giving propagandists unregulated access to the entire population” is a bad theory in a lot of ways: boring, simple, doesn’t show the folly of US imperialism or neoliberalism. It just also happens to be right

500,000 veterans receiving VA care
600,000 kids in Head Start
