I read this as:

and TBH it still holds up
Somebody's going to have to update this to include Suella Braverman.

A week really is a long time in politics.

Well now, this is a little thread of joy.
Not to crowdsource my work but I grew up without a TV! For our sitcom, I need a list of very very famous ads from British TV over the years. Please link your favourite ones below and they may end up being a key plot point that saves the day. No pressure!

The fossil fuel industry sponsored Tories are against this. So of course it is a great idea.

Cycle using mates in London and elsewhere, please respond to this consultation! It ends on 28th Jan. Lots of folk are trying to halt the building of a separated cycle track in Westminster, including the folk who got the Ken High Street track ripped out.

Can anyone help?

I have a 1875 home with coal fireplaces that have been reconfigured by previous owner to propane.

I was wondering if the propane inserts can be again reconfigured to a wood burning stove insert?

Would the existing propane flue be double walled?

Any other considerations?

The Hiraeth is very strong.
My reason for moving back to Wales is about belonging. My Jones tribe have been in Bangor forever, are still there generations later and have welcomed me like I’ve come home. Meet my gggrandparents Cadwalader & Jane Jones (1903) and 3rd cousin Glenda who I met in 2024 and love to bits!

This is how #DCRail deliver up to 1500t of aggregate into their Chessington terminal multiple times a week. At the moment, using a pair of glorious Class 56s. It was a privilege to get & about and work on these for operational validation work with more to come. #RailFreight

important Public information here folks.
Remember that to catch your haggis tonight you have to lull them into a false sense of security by playing the bagpipes very softly. Check your torch has batteries! Have Happy Burns Night tomorrow! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Barbour make a coat that has a pocket which runs the entire width of the lower back. -25°C sounds like a three potato day to me...
MN protestors #protip put 2 Idaho Russets in the oven at 420 degrees for 45 min, take them out and foil wrap, 1 in each pocket before you go out. Theyll stay warm for 3-4 hours even in this weather and you can eat em when you like. They used to send us kids out like this back in the 70s trust me.

I am a confirmed Atheist and yet when individuals of Faith stand up for the weak against the strong, one cannot do anything but applaud their efforts and support them.

Bravo.
i left the church and have nothing to do with it anymore but something happens when i see priests and pastors and rabbis and imams and sikhs at protests going so hard in mega harsh conditions i get choked up. this is how all of that is supposed to be. that's what all of that is supposed to be for.

"All Greensleeves and no lollies" anyone?
In Colombia, street ice cream carts announce their goods with a bell, which is the origin of a variant of “all talk and no action” that goes mucho tilín tilín y nada de paletas. It means “a lot of ding-dong and no lollipops.”

Councillors don't care if a parent slips & breaks a hip. They don't care about kids walking, scooting or cycling to school, they don't care about the commuter walking for their bus or train, heaven forbid they care about cyclists, they don't care about people at all.
They only care about cars.
At last night's council meeting there was a motion on winter maintenance.
An amendment to 'Investigate gritting those parts of major arterial pedestrian/cycle routes susceptible to freezing' was not passed, as more than half of those councillors present voted against it.

The US granted visas to Jews but only allowed 30,000 in from Germany a year. You had to wait for your number to come up.

Meet Robert Smallbones. An unassuming British diplomat who 'hacked' this system so effectively (saving 48 THOUSAND Jews) the UK government kept his scheme secret for decades /1 🧵

Especially helpful are the motorists who park on the pavement which forces me to walk in the road.
Rude af driving behaviour out there this morning. Van driver stopped me crossing road safely with appalling parking, and he was actually in van watching me struggle. Cars not stopping to let pedestrians go when it's pouring down and the highway code says they should. Stupid speeds on small roads.

What's the stupidest thing you ever got in trouble for? I have... a few, some of which I've detailed here before.

But you might not have heard about the time the Daily Mail did a bullet-point scare job on me in 2016, because I tricked Selfridges staff into printing rude words on some Nutella jars.
