I have funds now to travel to international conferences to support my research. I’ve not really had access to that before.

I saw an excellent conference advertised yesterday.

One I’d usually want to go to.

It’s in the US.

Not now. Nope.

Academic freedom there is dying. Quickly.

We're talking about a group actively planning to attack RAF bases. As an ex-RAF serviceman, that's going too far. No way will I support or accept any such thing.

Exactly. We’re used to his attacks which are totally inane but also dangerous. But this one on Anaru really pisses me off.

Absolute disgusting attack on a distinguished and respected Māori scholar and teacher.

Luxon on RNZ equating billionaires with hard work. There is not one LivingWageEmployer on the rich list, the govt has stolen the chance of decent pay from 300,000+ actual hard working women, & the PM wants to celebrate the folks who don’t want to pay their fair share of tax or decent wages.

Part of what really disturbs me about the sudden end of pay equity is the democratic implications - National did not say before the election that they would do this. It is now being passed under urgency, the same day as announcement, with no public input. NZers quite simply have not had a say.

The government will save billions through this decision. But we should be clear that this is money that has come directly out of the pockets of low-paid female workers. I didn’t think the National Party would stoop this low to pay for it’s tax cuts. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
